Job is redone
They redrained the transmission and torque converter while I waited. It took around an hour and seemed a little fast, but I did watch them do it.
They claimed that the drain is on the other side of the torque converter on some cars and hence inaccessible. "Luckily" mine is accessible. Sounds like more BS to me, and doesn't excuse them for not doing it right the first time.
I'll write up a summary of my experiences when I have time and provide a checklist for others who might have this job done.I thank everyone again for helping me keep them honest.
I wonder how many other customers this dealer has improperly serviced. I would think an audit of dealer service receipts would be very interesting for Mercedes. <Hint Hint>

Ah great! They did it the right way by a complete drain again. I'm sure the transmission feels great. They are talking BS. The drain plug is NEVER on the other side of the converter.

More fluid questions
It should have been serviced at 39K. Another reason to run ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As it has never seen a fluid change you really have to make sure they drain the converter. Also make sure they leave things open for as long as reasonably possible to drain all the old fluid out & drain warm.

Tranny service must be done EVERY 39K miles. Diff is a good idea every 100K miles. Rest to service book.
Brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years. Every 3 would not be a train smash but no longer than that. Brake fluid is hygroscopic & absorbs water. You don't want corrosion to mess up the ABS block or you are in for a very large bill.
They are talking about the Poly V accessory belt. You can replace that on inspection. It's an easy DIY.
