'01 C320 can't get into my trunk - anyone have this problem?
Hi, i have a 2001 c320 and for some reason i can't get into my trunk, its been about a week now and with no luck, has anyone else had this problem? I've tried my button on the door to release, i've tried the remote and i just found the key hole on the trunk lid. I figured that the key was a sure thing, well no luck, all i was able to do was turn it so its parallel to the trunk and i'm not able to turn it back! Also, when i hit the remote and the door button, i hear nothing, so i'm not sure what when bad or wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Tony

I can get into mine OK, but I find it uncomfortable for long periods of time. A few minutes is OK, then it feels dark and cold.

I'm sooo jealous...nothing more would i love to be able to get into my trunk, even in the fetal position for that mater!
Is there a way to release the rear seats to put them down without opening the trunk? Is there possibly a fuse that went bad and if so where is it?

I would check to see what position the handle is in if it is stuck in the open position it might not unlock and cause this issue. it is a known issue on w203's that the handle gets old and sticks. Mine does this so I have to make sure to put it back into position after i open it.

One time i had a golf bag handle that was stuck in the trunk latch and i couldn't open the truck for a while until my friend and i pulled straight up in the small time frame the truck was actually unlocked. Maybe there's something caught in the latch?

Still no luck, i've tried pushing down on the truck while hitting the latch and the remote, still no go. Also i hear nothing from the trunk when either pushing the button on the dorr or using the remote. Do you think it could be a fuse? everything looks good by the drivers door fuse panel.
Is there another way to get in through the back seats? I'm just about at my limit with it and going to break that little window that is behind the rear center armrest.

I do have the rear folding seats...but the only way i know of to fold them down is the release levers in the trunk which i can't seem to get into.

yes i have that little door that is behind the rear center armrest...but that little door opens from inside the trunk right? I'm thinking that i might try to gently pop it open to access the trunk and release the fold down seats to get to my trunk, but was holding out as a last ditch effort.
Really would love to figure out why my trunk isn't opening tho

2001 C320
I have the same year C320 and recently had the same issue. As it turned out my key fob needed new batteries but the trunk was still a PIA to open even with the actual key. I just kept turning the key both ways while pulling the release and eventually got it to open. Then I cleaned and lubed the latch with lithium grease while moving the parts......mo more issues.

Oh so you have to turn the key in the hole then pull the release.. well that explains it. I was trying just to turn the key and have the trunk pop open.

W203 slightly modified
If that fails you can break the left rear stop lamp and then work your way up to the trim and break the trim and pull the cable.
Sometimes that is what they do in Australia. But the above advise should work perfectly.
