for some reason, i can't sign up at chicago. must be full. what doesn't make sense to me is that there isn't one in detroit...hello? motor city! unless of course they didn't want to scare all the american cars away.

I went to the Houston C spot party...it was ok...free food/drinks...after the C32 ride it was all pretty boring. I did drive the crap out of a C320 w/sport pkg on a little tiny test course. I asked before I drove how aggressive I could be "as aggressive as you want" the guy said....cool said I !

Bagwell, where did they old the event in Houston? A raceway parking lot like here in Dallas (Tex Motor Speedway)?

The Red Hot Laps course for the C32s here took up a large amount of space... I'd bet it was 1.25 miles long.

Sam Houston Race Park...which is a Horse Racing track with a huge parking lot.

Try this one...

C-Spot Drive Party

When your are asked: "How did you hear about C Spot Drive Party?" Use the drop down box to pick "heard from a friend...", or "Other." I think that will get you around the need to input a reservation number.

no need for helmet or money...just yourself and a friend or two (or in my case 7 friends). We all had a good time, Bagwell what day did you go? I mean I've gone to the Caddy event so I kinda knew what to expect, but for a free event its pretty nice, food/drinks/prizes/drive benz around on a course (as tiny as they may be).

My advise, wear relax clothing and good shoes. Sunglasses recommended and bring an empty stomach

They supply the helmets, and a hair net for each participant.

Must admit, MBUSA did a very good job over the Jaguar event in Lime Rock. Made a good impression on the "drag race" and I'll post pics when I get it x-fer over to the computer!

So the Englishtown C drive party was pretty cool I must say, it was 2.5 hours well spent, nobody bothering you decent food, very cool refridgerators, overall very well run I felt. The drive tracks were pretty lame, but how much can you expect for free- nice MB hat and golf ***** though. Got to drive the 320 coupe which I've been wanting to check out, but ofcourse not one manual- I guess that's for obvious reasons. Acceleration felt comparable to my car. Also drove the C230 sedan around the cones. Girlfriend liked it, felt lethargic at low engine speeds, but nice and quiet unlike the 2.3l deere motor. I'm sure its adequate with the 6 speed, but the auto really doesn't suit 1.8l motor IMO. I took 2 runs in the C32 which I want now ofcourse, but don't see myself going for 50gs for a car any time soon. That's definitely a pile of tickets waiting to happen, must be a constant exercise in restraint for you owners! A good time highly recommended, worth blowing off that bbq you didn't really want to go to anyway.

Unfortunately I couldn't blow off that weekend trip to Miami that suddenly materialized. Thanks for the report, tommy!

Deere engine, good one! I could have sworn they stuck a CDI powerplant in my car the day I drove it off the lot. I had leased the thing without actually having driven it, and to this day, no regrets. It's still a blast to drive as soon as you get it out of the city with it's pothole-ridden streets.

If any one thinking about buying a C class soon, you should go
to the C spot driving party and do the survey at the end of the
tour.

MBCC will send you a postcard for up to $500 off your first
car payment if you are do the finance thru MBCC (10 days after
you done your C spot drive party)

I just did it today for 36 months and 3.49 % interest.
Will pay off the loan in the second or third month.

c-spot party

i went to the MB event friday and i agree w/ the others on this board. 1) the course was WAY too short...i think about 30 to 45 seconds for the ride, barely out of first gear to second and it's time to brake for the return to the starting point. of ALL the events i've attended in the past 4 yrs(lexus, bmw, other MBs, etc...this was the most disappointing). wait in line for 10 to 15 minutes for 40 second ride. 2) the food/refreshment was ok and the people were very nice. last and most importantly, 3) the quality of the MB c-class was JUNK!!! there were tons of cars w/ only 100 miles on them already with damage just from people getting in/out of the cars. the quality of the plastics in the cars were right down there w/ hyundais and yugos - yuck!!! regardless of the costs of the MBs, care owners for $30k+ deserve more. heck, even a $15k VW does better and if AUDI can do it, come on.... remember, MBs are nice but so are MANY other $30k cars...like maybe a 2 yr old E-class or a new A4. anyway, just my $.02 worth.

I thought that the quality of the interior plastics for the new W211 E's were even worse for the wear at last year's E-motion event. The little compartment in front of the seat and the glove box between the seats was broken in almost every one of the cars.
