Does anyone have an Aux Input Cable/Jack (part # A2104405005) for sale?

It's for my 2005 c230 Kompressor, and I'm trying to not dust off my cd's!!

A Mercedes dealer should be able to get your a quote, even if they say its not compatible with your car *sigh*.

Better yet, look in your phone book/online for a few local independent Mercedes specialists. They can get them in cheaper.

Wow, I was cleaning my garage yesterday and came across one of these cables I had apparently purchased well before I put in my comand (and bought another aux cable) last year. I have no idea what I paid for it or what they go for... How does $50 shipped (CONUS) sound?

PS - it's brand new in the unopenned Mercedes packaging.

they go around 50 bucs so that sounds right, I was told on HERE that only 06 and 07 have this connector but if 05s do then some one needs to update the thread on installing the aux cable. Its pretty simple though btw

05's are definitely prewired for aux in. I installed it on mine a few months ago, pretty straightforward with the DIY. I didn't have to remove the large panel, just the side of the glove compartment and the kick plate.

Good news, thanks to mtnman82 I was able to purchase the aux cable. I also found the connector in the passenger side panel, and connected everything to work. So yes, the 2005 c230 Kompressor does indeed come equipped with it.

However, there is a lot of static when I change the head unit selection to Aux Input Active. The static goes away after about 5 minutes, but during the static, it is unbearable to listen too.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Glad it got to you OK! No idea what the static could be, especially if it goes away after a bit. hate to say it, but wounds like it could be the head unit itself?

Could be, its not because of your cable. It's really strange cause I've never had something like that happen. Plus being 7 years old and the cable never used...could be corroded somewhere....

Thanks again though, it works awesome after a few minutes. I wired it up under the carpet to the shifter in about 20-30 minutes

Not saying the ground loop isolator won't help, but usually if there's a grounding problem you'll hear a 'hum'. Static/noise is usually a suspect connection, but what's really weird is taht it goes away after a couple minutes. I'm wondering if there's some dirty contacts in the head unit? Or maybe try unplugging and then plugging everything back in again (the aux cable) to possibly help clean things? Hope you get it figured out!

Do you have any idea where the AUX cable runs through the car? I see it goes towards the back on the passenger side, then I assume back up to the head unit somewhere? If it connects anywhere else between the end connector and the head unit, I may be able to check it before pulling the stereo out...

it sounds like the wires hit metal or each other somewhere...

if it were a loose or dirty connection it would most likely come and go more often. like with every bump in the road or something. while I think that the isolator is a 50/50 shot its only like 11 bucks. seemed like a decent shot before ripping everything back open again.
