CPS SENSOR.. i could've done it myself but I was having problems starting my car and I didnt want to get stuck in the city and end up paying a tow. And also a magnet on the cam needed to be changed. He only charged me an hour labor even though its a few minute job I just said for him to go for it. Plus oil change
but the best part was that he said he needed to do service B before trying the transmission adapation thing.

nope haha.. but i can understand how other people would fall for it. he made it sound like an ultimatum. the best part was that I didnt respond to him and left him in silence then he answered the question himself

Just got this from the service advisor gl320 2007 g7 out of warranty 49000 mile. Seem like alot of people having this problem
Ok Faults stored and current for gear requested implausible, dropped pan and fluid is good and filter and magnets are clean of any metal or debris. $278.00 DONE
Needs transmission shift conductor plate, need to drop valve body and replace and reprogram shift adoptions after with new filter and filter $1346.00-15%(-201.92) =$1144.08
3-4 days special order to get that part needed installed and your truck back on the road safely. Please let me know how to proceed, best regards, Dustin

My mom's 2007 c280 may have a similar issue, but I'm not totally sure.
When dropping them off to the airport in a hurry, the car was shifting so hard it was actually barking the tires all the way up to 3rd gear. I noticed that the indicator next to the gear on the instrument cluster had a small square vs a 'c' or 's' for sport/comfort mode.
I could start and re-start the car a couple of times and maybe it would show it, but it would go back to the square while driving. If I wasn't hard on the gas, it would shift fairly normally. I could still detect that it was a hair harder than normal, but I help maintain our fleet of 13 cars, so I'm not your average bear. My parents wouldn't have noticed.
My father mentioned that prior to this, he couldn't get the car to shift out of park. After this trip to the car will not shift out of park. The shifter moves, the shifter indicator shows the correct gear, but the instrument cluster doesn't show it shifting.
Thoughts?

I'm having similar symptoms but mine is an '06 with the 6 speed. Will stick in high at a stop sign or not up shift from 1st or 2nd gear. Does not happen all the time and will re set if turned off briefly. Car has 112,000 miles on it and has not had the fluid changed in quite a while. No CEL lights or codes.
Could this be a similar problem to what the '07s are experiencing?

From experience having the conductor plate replaced on my 7G tranny. The reason for dealer doing it is reprograming. I don't think an indie shop is capable of doing and they could really mess things up by doing it wrong. IMHO
