it looks like a c-coupe to me... with the rear end of the new SL/E, with a dash of CL pillarless design...

new CLK

Call me crazy, but...

it looks like a Volvo C70 with a Benz grill and headlights.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but that's what it reminds me of.

Looks okay......but I like the old one better!

The rear has a very "american car" look.

From that shot, the rear looks like an Acura CL. The wheels look like they came from the Volvo C70. We all know what the front fascia looks like. Overall, it looks okay - but as Harris pointed out, it's not as nice as the current CLK. The current car is "to die for", alas, no manual tranny...

Of course, YMMV, etc.

2 questions: When and how much?

I too was thinking Acura CL tailights. I don't like the direction MB has been going with the backends on these restyled models.

Anyway, I have to say that this is the most likeable new style I've seen so far by MB. Maybe that's beacuse it looks like my car with a trunk?:p

I think it will be launched at the Geneva Auto Show next month. Will be hitting our shores in Aug/Sept?!

Pricewise....bet they cant charge a lot more than the current one with this look! If ppl say the current CLK is not sporty enough, I think this is even worse. Ppl might think you've taken yr dad's CL 500 out when you're in the opposite direction and SL500 when you're in the same direction!!!

not bad

It's a pretty good attempt at refining the chunky CLK that's now in production. The present model is nice from some angles but far too massive from others (such as in the haunches, C pillar and from the side). The current model's body cladding on the rocker panels just makes this "massive" effect worse.

Overall, the new car is a pretty credible effort. But perhaps Mercedes should think of using coachbuilders to design their more exclusive cars, maybe Pininfarina. That would make the crossover between the C Coupe and this car's face less obvious...and perhaps lead to more pretty designs. Still, it's OK.

K Car
I think this looks closer to the C Class family (especially with those headlights) where the older (current) version looks closer to the E Class family.

Looks like the new 2003 CLK I saw in a mag

I think I saw this prototype in some car magazine and they said the new CLK (supposedly this car) will will have the current 3.2 and 4.3 liter engines and also a nwe 5.0 liter engine...and eventually a new CLK55 too.
