Bought some new Bixenon, few questions
Got in an accident few weeks ago and factory headlight for my c240 was 386 bucks. So I decided to buy a set of bixenons on ebay. Can anyone tell me if I will need to take it in to stealership to have the computer reprogrammed. Heres the link to the headlights. The xenon bulbs and ballast are already installed on it and it is plug and play.

It depends. If they use 35 watt ballasts, you will definitely need to get either error eliminators or set xenon= present. However if they are 50/55 watt ballasts, you may be able to get away with nothing. I am running DDM tuning 6000K Bi-Xenons with a 55w ballast and have no issues at all. No fliggering, no errors, nothing. However there are people who have had 55w ballasts also who have had flickering/error issues. It really is not possible to tell without actually getting them in the car. So simply...
35w: For sure need either error eliminators or xenon=present
55w: Luck of the draw. In theory it should work since it draws the same power as the OEM halogens.
good luck!

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I checked and these too come with the 35w bulbs and ballasts. How good are the lights, they project pretty nice? And how much will it cost to have them reprogramm with DAS?
Thanks guys

You can get them with just low-beam xenon projectors or the ones the OP got (as well as myself) are actual bi-xenons, with the moving shield, etc.

Well my Benz is still in the shop, its driving me nuts. I am stuck in a Chrysler 200 in the meanwhile which is hard to do coming from my Merc. I cant wait to get it back and see the difference from the frosted ugly lenses to the new Bi-xenons. I also decided to treat myself while its getting a new paint job by indulging on a new grill!

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I had an interesting conversation regarding Depos for my C230K.
I took my car to an indy to install my new lights. I didn't want to spend 4 hours doing it myself just to take it to an indy later to make sure they were aligned and programmed - it just seemed easier all the way around.
They guy just called me and made an interesting suggestion. He said it looked like the manufacturer did a good job of making them a lot like the standard Bi-Xenon lights with the ballast attached under the assembly. He said in his experience, the ballast was the part that is the least reliable - especially on the non-German brands - and he suggested he mount it in a more accessible location so that the whole head light wouldn't have to be removed to replace the ballast. This is the first time I've taken my car to him and I'm starting to like this guy!

I thought of that, too.. The mounting location means the headlight has to come out to replace the ballast. Ultimately I left it as it was, though.
Post of photos when they're installed. They do not come perfectly aligned.. you'll have to align them. I had to tinker with mine both up/down and left/right but now they are perfect and awesome.

I expect he'll give me a walk through and if there is anything to see, I'll post pictures.
One of the reasons I took it to the indy was because I was going to have to take it to him anyway to aim them. I don't trust myself with that (didn't on the Lotus either and they were regular halogens).

Hey LilBenz320, after you got your car programmed for Bi-xenon, did your turn signal lights on the housing it self work? The Collision center called me and said they hadnt programmed yet and the headlights worked, but turn signals were not. Also, does your car throw any dash warnings when lights are on? Thanks!

My car does not throw any errors because it is programmed not to. My turn signals do work, though one didn't to start with. I had to take it out and fix a broken electrical tab on the socket. You may have to do the same.. I didn't take photos. The socket has two metal tabs that make contact with the metal ring to supply electricity to make the turn signal flash. On mine, one of them was bent badly. I went to bend it back in place and it broke..
But I shook it out of the light assembly and looked at it carefully. I saw how it was supposed to go together. There was a slot on the socket for that piece to be clipped into. I clipped it in, used a pair of needle nosed pliers to bend both pieces till they firmly were sandwiched together and it has worked fine since. I did email the seller about it and he and I both kept records so that if it ever becomes an issue he'll take care of it.

Yes, Doesnt your car have Halogen right now? 8k Isnt as bright as 5k is what I have been told. I had 8k on my C240 and loved it. I had great view at night. Not to mention the car will look A LOT better!

8000k is worthless. The actual light output is severely crippled at that point. Headlights are for functionality, not looks. Plus who thinks ridiculous color headlights look cool? They don't on Hondas, they sure as hell don't on Benzes.
4300-6000k is the range you want to stay in. 4300 being ideal and 6000 being the upper limit of usability.
