Mobil 1 deal of the century

I just went to my local advanced auto parts to pick up some oil. it turns out they just started a sale today. 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and a filter for $34. as you guys may know, they don't carry filters for our cars. so I just grabbed any three filters and hit the checkout with 15 quarts. totaled out to just over 100 bucks. and the best part of all, I'll go back tomorrow to return the filters without a receipt and get the full $19 per filter in store credit. so basically I am getting 15 quarts of oil for $40. I'm not sure if this is a local to new jersey thing or if it's everywhere, but you guys might want to check it out.

And they say that Jersey is full of corruption!

Might have to pick up some M1 for next month's Benz oil change, and grab a filter for my CRX. Sounds too good to pass up.

Damn I hate Advance Auto! Closest store is over 100 miles away and they always tend to have some good deals going on.

Meh... Maybe I'll stop by at the local AutoZone/O'Reillys/Napa/Car Quest just to see if they have anything similar. I'm pretty stocked up on oil at the moment for all our cars, but there's never too much of that stuff, especially if you get it cheap.

Yeah, there's only about, what, 6-7 million people in the DFW area, yet no Advance Auto closer than 100 miles away. There's AutoZone or O'Reilly's everywhere, though. Damn cartels!

Mobil1 European Formula 0W-40 Oil + Oil Filter $32.99. $4-5/qt B&M
Advanced Auto Parts is having a sale on oil.

Usually doesnt include the European Formula but it looks like it is working this time.

Buy a 5 Plus Quarts jug or 5 single quarts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic motor oil and a Mobil 1 oil filter for $32.99. Get 25% off up to 4 additional quarts.

Savings depends on the cost of your filter but for a $13 filter you are paying around $4.75/qt. A lot better than most places.

You get the best deal if you only by 5/qt's.

OIL Filter(may need to check fit for your car. [advanceautoparts.com]

no problem. I know that I am far from the most knowledgable person here, and I have learned way more than I've taught. so I will try and pay it forward with the little things.

The Autozones down here in Houston have the same deal going on so I would imagine they do up there too. Autozone also sells the Mobil 1 filter for our cars and stocks them in store. It is $19.99 and the special includes up to $12.99 for the filter so you might be able to get the correct filter for $7 more.

Oreilly's had it for $5.49 a quart up until last week. Both our cars were due and I needed 15 quarts so I cleared the shelves of the 12 they had and price matched the last 3 at advanced.

I don't know about Jersey but down here the Advance special only covers $12.99 for a filter just like Autozone, not $19.

Yup. Just got back from AutoZone and they had 5 quarts plus a filter for $32.99. Got 10 quarts of 0W-40 and two filters for my truck.

I actually need to go back again tomorrow to get another 10 quarts since the BMW needs an oil change, too.

the normal price for the filters I grabbed we're 19. when combined with the oil it got knocked down to 10. I have never seen a filter for my 230k in advance or auto zone. I grab them from the dealer for like 16 bucks.

No Advance Auto in Cali.

O-Reilly was selling Mobil 1 for like 5.75 a quart recently.
I didn't buy any because I still had oil left over from their last sale, and that was more than a year ago. My last oil change was free from the dealer *, though they only put in like 5 quarts, basturds.
(*The $100 coupons from last July)
Just did an oil change last weekend, so I'm good for 6 months at least.
I'm trying not hoard crap like that anymore.

And Walmart carries approved oil in 5 gallon containers from Shell at my local store for like $25,
none of the Mobil 1 big bottles they carry are approved but the Shell Rotella is.

Makes sense, I guess they discount the filter too as part of the combo deal. Neither of mine need oil changes anytime soon but I might just have to go stock up at autozone for the next time.

Same deal is $32.99+ at AutoZone. Honored my accumulated $40 ‘rewards card’ concurrently.
Bundled up a GMC, Duratec, and AMG OCI in one fell swoop. $23.95 discount on each deductible receipt.

Did I ever tell you about a friendly cashier at K-Mart (during bankruptcy) ringing up Mobil 1 six-packs at the quart price? "Are you sure about that?!"

oh man, I gotta make it out to an AutoZone. the problem is, every time this deal happens, the AutoZones that I try are all out of 0W-40.

and, I don't really need the oil filter either, but it's a great deal on the oil nonetheless!

I don't see how this is such a great deal.
I checked the local Wally Mart, Rotella T6, with MB Approval 228.31
22 bucks for 4 quarts, $5.50 a quart,
Single quarts of 0w-40 Mob 1 about 6+ change.

Whats the big deal about this, especially since they don't have oil filter for our cars?
You still gotta buy 2 container at 34 each, for 68 + you still need a filter.
I could get 8 gallons of Rotella for 44 and a filter for 6 bucks online.
