Hi everyone. I recently purchased a 2003 c320 sedan and thank god that i found this forum. This forum has been very helpful. I have a couple of questions about the car i was wondering if some of you can help me out. I done many searches but i can't find the answer and that is why i am posting.

1. Is there a way to turn off the climate controls with one push or the only way is to lower the fan speed until "0" is displayed on the screen? Its just my habit to turn off all electronic components before i leave the car and its really cumbersome to keep on pushing the 0 buttom until the fan shuts off.

2. I have done any search on the forum but i can't see to find the subwoofer for the bose system. I know I have 10 speakers (1 center, 2 on each front door, and 2 on the rear door, and 2 on the back shelf. That makes 9, so where is teh sub. From the trunk it seems like the sub is on the driver side rear shelf facing down. Is this true? If it is than where is the 10th speaker?

Thanks in Advance

Paul

I don't have the digital climate control, so I can't answer your question about adjusting it. It may be easier to just leave it be.

In regards to the Bose sound system, the subwood is located under the rear package shelf on the driver's side of the car. There is a small Bose logo on it. In the 03's, I believe it's the only speaker grill with a Bose logo on it. The sub is your 10th speaker. (3 in each front door x2, 1 in each rear door x2, center in dash, sub on package shelf). Hope this helps. Congrats on your purchase.

first congrats on the car.

second, the AC can be turn off by pressing that Econ (or whatever they put on) button on the right of the circulation button. However, if you want to turn off the fan completely, the only way is to turn the fan speed all the way down till you see "0" on the display.

third, I'm not sure if I remember this correctly, but there's 3 on each front door, 1 center, 2 on each rear door and 1 sub on the rear deck (the other side is the medical kit).

Sorry guys. Here is the layout for the speakers on my 03.

1 x centerdash
1 in each front door near the bottom (low/mid)
1 in each mirror panel in each front door (high)
2 in each rear door (MB counts it as 2 because its a coaxial/whizzer cone)
1 in drivers side parcel shelf (subwoofer)

Your numbers add up to more than 10.

Re: Proud new owner of new C320

Hey, congratulations on the car. Hope you really enjoy it.

I'm just curious, why do you want to turn everything off? We used to do that way back with other cars just to help prevent any potential surges to components while starting the car, but there's been better protective stuff built in since then.

It's just a habit to turn everything off when i leave the car. No particular reason. Thank you guys for the replies. I just went in to the garage and notice that the bose logo is only on the driver side rear shelf grill. the passanger side shelf grill has nothing under it. My medic kit is in the trunk. That is wierd.

For MY03, the first aid kit was moved from the rear package shelf to a space in the left-side of the trunk.

About the speakers, IMHO I still think they should be couting 8 speakers, not 10. Even though 2 of the speakers are dual-range(?), it's still only one speaker unit. But hey, when it comes to crushing the compeition, 10 sounds better than 8!

My 03 center speaker is inside the mesh grill in the center of the dash.

Here is the spot as indicated by the arrow (pic courtesy of MB-BOB). There is a dipstick that can be utilized. It is about 1/2 - 3/4 inch too long. That means you'll have to consider the full mark the add mark. It comes out of MY02 C230K; P/N 111-010-11-72, pricing is anywhere from $13.50 to $24.75 + tax or shipping depending on where you get it.
