No C facelift for '04

Well, my dealer just got in some '04 C-class brochures today and there are no appearance changes. The cars look identical, except the coupe will have C7 standard. And the C240 and C320 sedan and wagon will no longer be offered with a manual trans. Both coupes and both sport sedans will still have manuals available.

I didn't read the brochure in depth, but there's nothing different that I can see. Also, Magma Red is being replaced by Mars Red. And there is a new Granite Gray, which I guess is a replacement for Tectite. That's all for now.

Sure thing. Shouldn't be too long until they arrive at dealers. They are already in production and there are some already in the US awaiting release.

Can you get the exact build date? You probably can, but I'm not exactly sure where. You can at least get the build month from the sticker in the door jamb.

Yeah, probably on the VMI, Vehicle Master Inquiry. I've never really looked at them in much detail though, but I bet that's where you get it from.

Damn not even dash board changes? hm i guess they'll start bringing in the changes at 05 then. Full complete design after bmw does it with her 3rd class most likely.

Anyways thanks for the info keep us updated.

Im in chicago at the moment coming here to visit my aunt from LA. The cars or at least the idea of the cars in my head such as benz and bmw being really high class seems to differ here. My aunt and the entire neighborhood is rich but yet they don't seem to drive good cars. Ford explorers and what not. hm.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. SoCal must be spinning in his grave.

Guess this means that they're conceding that part of the sport sedan segment to BMW. You know, the fun part.

Just when it looks like they're getting serious about competing, they go all soft again.

Many thanks for the update!!

Went to order mine yesterday and they did not show the C7 wheel package for '04 so I held off. They are having the district manager come in today and talk about the C7 issue. THANKS for clearing that up! Man, on the fence with the G35 and C320 and without C7 I could have fallen off..... I am sitting here now (7:30AM) doing a like/dislike list on both cars. C320 coupe/6 speed is winning.

Have a great day!!

Headed to the MB dealer at 10:00

OK, it's 10:51 now, how did things go at the dealer?

This whole thing might be good news, since the '03's won't be instantly obsoleted.

"Navi" (my nickname for the car) was born December 26, 2001 (the date production started at the factory) and delivered to the dealer on January 11, 2002. I took her home that day. Fifteen thousand miles later, the car has not let me down.

Im sure it will come

They will have the face lift and dash console changes in mid year 04. Around Feb 04.
They are not going to "offically print" them now. Then no one would buy the early 04's, if it is confirmed now that changes are going to happen in 6 months. its just marketing and logistics on MB/DC.

If the information is right about the C320 and C240 sedans and wagons not being availible with a manual then that puts an end to my Mercedes dream: C320 wagon with a manual.

You know between the "Late availability" crapola of MY2003 and the discontinued crapola of MY2004 I guess M-B actually built these things for 3 or 4 months maximum. UNFREAKING believable.
