A/C problem

Hi there, im new here, i have been reading topics for almodt a week now and o cant find a similar case than mine. I just bought a 2004 C230K, and i have an issue with the A/C, i live in Cancun Mexico, so you might know the hows the hot here, its like the infernos door.

The problem is that th ac wont work on idle but when i start driving starts cooling randomly, starts, then tops and starts again, sometime on idle on a traffic light for example, keeps cooling but when i start driving it stops again,it can became pretty annoying.

I check the freon, and its on the level, the guy weight it or something like that, atleast thats what he told me.

Any idea what cold it be!?

Summers coming and i really need the A/c working...just for fun, my car its black, so its hotter than most colors hehe..

Thx 4 reading..

Is your fan in the engine bay running? Check there first, should be on when the AC is on.

^ +1 , sobre la bateria quita el filtro, para poder ver mejor, se va poder ver la bateria i el abanico, prende el aire acondicionado, i checa como trabaja el abanico arriba de la bateria.

yo pienso que ese abanico no esta operando bien.

yep, i just check it and its running, its not the fastest fan but it works. and on top of it i can feel a good flow of air so i think its working normal.

No creo que tenga que ver con el ventilador de adentro el flujo de aire esta bien el problema es la temperatura del mismo, a ratos sale como si apagaras el a/c y dejaras el puro ventilador y de pronto empieza a enfriar solo.

(Translation:
I dont think this have to do anything with the internal fan, the air flux its fine the problem its the temperature, at times its warm like you turn off the AC and then starts cooling by it self.)

ME estoy volviendo loco..
(Trans: Im about to get mad!)

Thanks for your replies.

i just checked the fan upside the battery and it works fine, i even put the recirculate button and i see a door closed in that fan.. That seems to be working fine.

I have a the check engine On, and when i check the codes was a misfire in one cylinder, i need to change soon the spark plugs so probably its normal no other codes where shown.

Thanks again in advance.

I'm not so sure I'd just jump straight to a bad compressor just yet.

My fan would actually work *sometimes* and a trip to the dealer and a software update later it was all working again. I'm not sure how the software got corrupted, but it may've had something to do with my ECU tune. Here's my thread if you wanna look into it:
