Hey, Lynn! Look, we're "Members" now...

I really enjoyed the "Junior" Member status for a while. But as we all know, time marches on... I just hope there's no "Senior" Member moniker when we get to 200 posts. That could be a real downer!

You don't work at SWBell in St. Louis, do you?

Senior member status on a mortorsports board comes at 500 post. I have 300 some odd in 16 months. Some people have gained senior status in a month. They are either students on break or retired.

I work for the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, formerly the Defence Mapping Agency, known in St. Louis as DMAC. My only connection to SW Bell is the obvious one.

Membership for us is only appropriate, after all the hard work we put into our posts.:p

My title is geodesist, but my branch does geodetic surveying.

It has taken me to a large part of the world. Might you work for one of NIMA's contractors?

No, I work for Rand McNally. I ride herd over the cartographic symbolization software (graphics -> print ready files). At one time I thought of applying at DMA.

Thanks for sharing, Lynn...

Thanks, for Sharing, Lynn. Several years ago (15 or so), I had an acquaintance in a plastic model club there in St. Louis, who worked for the Fed at the defense mapping agency on South Broadway, just South (I think) of the River Des Peres. Can't remember his name, and don't know if that facility is still in operation. He wouldn't tell me what he did there... something about having to kill me if he did, or some BS.

Anyway, I asked, because you mentioned in a previous post that you stayed at the Mansion House Apts downtown for a while. When I worked for SW Bell (One Bell Ctr, 9th at Chestnut), we always had several transferees who resided at the Mansion House. So, I though perhaps you worked at Bell.

I wonder if Rick is going to see my question of him regarding the compass in the ash tray. I looked at Sharper Image, and they have several nice models that would fit nicely. I want to be sure they're accurate while hidden deep below the radio before I buy one, though. Take care, Lynn.

Thumbs down Senior Alert

Oh, crap! JamE55 has 112 posts and he's a "Senior Member" already. Lynn, I was liking your estimate of 500 posts before acquiring the "Senior" moniker. Oh, well, why fight it. I guess it's inevitable. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go...

Looks like 100 the the magic number for senior status. Maybe 500 is too many, but I think 100 is too low.
