2003 C240 airconditioner control knobs

Hello everyone. I have a question that maybe someone can help me with. I have 2003 C240 and live in Florida. reason i mention Florida is because it get super hot in cars down here. Now to my point. Because the excessive heat, the plastic control knobs on my AC/Heater panel are becoming so sticky, that they are hard to clean. Contacted the stealer, they said i would have to purchase the entire control panel.
So my question is, does anyone how to clean those knobs to remove the stickiness, or better option are there replacement aftermarket knobs?

thanks for your help in advance.

what I did with mine was I took them off and washed with dish soap to remove all the dirtiness. Once they were dry I went ahead and applied a coat of clear coat and they are looking good as new.

I have the same "sticky" trouble on climate control oof my C240, year 2001. Has anybody tried to buy these knobs separately ? In this case, which is the P/N ? Thanks for your time.

There used to be a knob replacement kit. No longer sold by Benz. So it's either a new controller or refurbish your existing knobs. Their are many solutions including rubberised sprays & ceramic filled PVA based sprays like the TV & electronics industry use to spray plastic bezels etc.
