hood damaged -- need help!

It's not a good day today. On the way back home from work, the hood of my car was hitted by something coming out from a truck. Dent and scratches were made.
The damage is about 2 inches long (see pic). I went to the dealer and they told me it's going to cost about 500 to fix. They will need to repaint the whole hood. That's the problem. My car is only 2 months old and I don't want them to repaint the whole hood. There is another option in my mind. Go to paintless dent repair to fix the dent first, then buy the spray touch-up paint from paintscratch.com to touch-up. I know it's not as good as repainting the hood, but I can save the original paint. The damage is not too big. Does anyone try the touch-up paint from paintscratch before? Are they any good? My car is silver. I really need your opinion. Thanks.

It dont look that bad. Did it take it to the metal. If not, I would try some compound remover and see if you can get that off. It might take a couple of trys. It just kind of looks like road grease, but I'm sure its not. How deep is the scratch?

I would just paint it and have it looking brand new again. As long as you take it to a good body shop, you shouldn't ever have an issue with it being a repaint.
edit - yeah, rotty is right. try rubbing some of that out first and then see how bad it is. You might be able to get most of it out. But if it doesn't look good enough, just paint it. Repaints aren't really much of an issue as long as it looks good and you aren't replacing any body panels.

You really should repaint the whole hood as using touchup paint for large areas just doesn't look too hot. If I had a choice between using touchup paint for a scratch that big or just leaving it alone, I'd just leave it alone.
500 dollars sounds about right (unless you can find someone to hook you up).. btw, because you have metallic paint, they have to repaint it all. If it was flat paint, most bodyshops could just paint over the spot where the paint got damaged.
Hey I just had a thought. For 500 dollars, how about instead of getting it repainted... get a carbon fiber hood
Actually, I'm kinda serious.. it would be interesting to see what that looks like.

have you try cleaner wax? like the 3M's rubbing compound?
the blk stuff maybe you can clean'em with paint thinner. just make sure after you clean it you rinse the area and wax it.

Yeah my hood was scratched as well. Had to repaint the hood. Looking at the pics of your hood there is no other option. If done correctly then it should be just like new. The down side is that the paint smell will be stuck in your car for a good 2 weeks. Also I do not recommend that you wash your car in any car washing machines of any sort for a month. Also do not wax it for a month. You can just wash it gently with soap and water and don't rub too hard. Let us know what you do
