c230 wants more mods/speed, HELP!

I have an 02 c230k 6sp... it was recently tboned in an accident and totaled (police report states the other driver is at 100% at fault) therefor i can scrap my benz by taking money and running or rebuy it salvaged much cheaper.. Say i'm given 6k (minimum) ... what other NICE options would you chose from with only 6k? how much money would i have to invest to make it gain 50+ horsepower? it has a strait pipe (deletedcat) and a flowmaster series 44. I will post pictures shortly! PLEASE FEEDBACK!

C32 swap.

Or Quaife, SC pulley, chip, lightweight rims

Or take out SC, install turbo, chip, lightweight rims

Or remove engine, add rocket boosters

But the coupe really would be a mess if you try to get 50 hp; it would probably be a bad combination of unreliable and unstreetable

6k You can buy my rb25det swap (45k miles) and have 250hp bone stock. It will give you a ton of headaches to get it wired .

On a SERIOUS note lol. my 2.5 is getting high in mileage. I don't know what the normal reliability in terms of mileage is in terms of these motors.. My question is. If or when it blows. Would it make sense to swap a diff motor? if so what? Or just replace it with the same kind? I wouldnt mind putting something with a bit more power in it. Just a thought for when I needa make this decision.

You would have a decent amount of options. You could try to find a wrecked 350 motor. Someone else has talked about the M273 v8 working on our trannys. The amount of headaches are unknown. I would either replace it with a 2.5-3.5.

Yaa. I kinda figured most of the motors and tranny's around the model would probly go together good. If I can find one that works right with the transmission would be great. Guess I got plenty of time to research and prepare. worse case the same kind of motor would get dropped to replace it. I wouldn't mind a 3.5 in it at all. And I'm sure if its a direct drop just the wiring and ecu would be the main issue.. O well. Thanks guys.

Because it's a Mercedes and there is no aftermarket.

OE or Eurocharged will give you a little bump, I'd say 5-8 hp and a bit more boost. Add a sc pulley, and you're talking more on the order of 15 or so. At the crank, that's now 192+15=207; add a FMIC, maybe methane, and you're getting closer to a consistent 20. That's about it on "standard" mods, unless you wanna go That's probably the most efficent way to get in the ballpark of 250, though you'd be sucking on that bottle forever.

Anything else, and you're looking at custom work - replacing the sc, adding turbo, swaps, etc. These cars just don't have the aftermarket support for reasonable hp boosts.

Also, cars lose power every year they age so you won't start with the hp you think you have.. i think i ended up at 167 AFTER the tune (manual says I should have 201 by default).

i also want WAY less space gap from the tires and body... What would be the most practical and reliable way to drop it a bit, i want the look with no rub. The whole reason i would take the car back is because its so unique and i want a stick euro they are the best daily drivers imo ..
Any color suggestions on body as well?
Looking for the CLEAN/SHOW look... lowered, light rims, racing seat(s).. ect
&Could i drop a short shifter in because my stick knob is reasonably warn ?
and where would i be able to find the "nonfoggy" headlights for the best price? here im guessing? i want the clear look since the foggy look is so ugly imo
THANKS!

by dual exhaust u mean true dual or just dual exit? i never seen one dual exit.. but I'm sure it can be done if theres space under the car for the scnd pipe. true dual you can't do. but yaa.. recaro is good. i got some recaro "style" seats for sale. there brand new in the packaging still. They were for my last car and I don't wanna use them in this car. So if your interested pm me and I'll send you pics and price.. You close to me so I'm sure shipping isnt needed since I'm in nyc. lemme know.

seats.. like I said I got.. I believe your car has a short shifter stock in it. So you shouldn't havta touch it.. Shift knob itself you can order online anywhere really. Just find the style you like. If its your entire shifter thats fcked which I kinda doubt. You can replace the whole thing. I believe the shifter already coems stock with aluminum shifter bushings so it should be fine. Nonfoggy headlights just go on ebay. You'll get w.e your looking for. But if you wanna just remove them all together you can. And on ebay you can get the grill without the foglight cutouts.

Looks like you will be spending over 5k for the mods to have a good clean look.
