Eaton M45 supercharger question
I'm hoping this is the right place to be asking this, and I apologize in advance if that's not the case.
I have a 2002 C230 with the M111 engine. From the research I've done, I've gathered that MB uses the Eaton M45 S/C. I have also found that the M45 is used in the Mini S.
That being said, I have tried to get in contact with someone from Eaton without luck (yet). My question is this: would the aftermarket crank/underdrive pulleys advertised for the Mini S work in my C230? I'd assume that, since both cars use the M45, that the pulley applications would be more or less the same. Pulley kits advertised for the C230 are just obscenely expensive, and I've seen the ones for the Mini at a fraction of the cost.
Any hopeful information would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Just because a pulley might fit on the supercharger axle does not imply that it would work as part of the most likely completely different belt drive on a M111.
The options I've seen for the C230 includes a larger crank pulley (as the supercharger pulley can't be made much smaller) and it is _highly_ unlikely that a Mini crank pulley would fit there.

You'd need a 6 rib pulley.
And you need to determine the diameter to get the rpm you want vs. what it currently has.
Try over in the R170 forum, there are some folks there who've replaced the SC pulley.
But early SLK's used a different supercharger, so you'd have to be sure you are looking at the later models with M45.
You need to pull the supercharger to replace the pulley.

Go away troll with your untested products of unknown origin.
Size of the pulley would depend on the size of the crank pulley.
If it's too small it can slip which is why people use crank pullies around here that are
designed to give the max boost the Supercharger will allow at the max RPM the car is capable of.

I do understand all of the criteria that need to be met in order for this to work. That being said, I've come across a friend of a friend who has a 17%(?) reduction pulley, and this is not currently employing his OEM pulley, leaving it free to take measurements from.
I'll let you all know how it turns out. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I think it would be really great if this did work out, as it would be a far more affordable solution when compared to the Kleeman or ASP pulleys.

Lane, No, my comment was to someone who was hawking their wares on the forum,
and not a sponsor, and ONLY trying to sell stuff, not participating in any way.
It appears their comments have been removed per the TOU.
The ASP crank pulley runs the M45 up to it's rated max rpm.
Problem with smaller pulley on the SC is the possibility of slippage.
It's all in the math.
