A/C problem, need help!

I have been experiencing a weird problem with the A/C. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. What could the problem be? Could it be the clutch? Also, sometimes when it turns on, as soon as i touch another button the A/C shuts off. Its freezing here in Seattle and would like to get this fixed externally if possible before i start tearing apart the dash to see if it is an electrical problem.

P.s. the fan by the battery under the windshield does not spin.
My climate control works perfectly fine just that the stupid A/C fan does not work.

Any and all input is appreciated!

Well of course it's cold you're using A/C lol it sounds like your fan motor might be going out. Check your compressor too, kind of a pain to get to for that one but that doesn't sound like the issue.

hehe well when I said A/C I meant as in heating as well haha

I forgot to mention, the car has a pretty small battery... I dont know what the hell my friend was thinkin when he put this small of a battery in but would that make an effect on the A/C?
I was just outside and tried some combinations lol and what got the heating to work for like 5 mins was turning on the windshield wipers and starting the car.

Hmm, i doubt it would be the compressor but fan motor going out could highly be. Ill have to actually check tomorrow if it doesn't snow to see if there might something be stuck in the motor.

Make sure the battery has enough CCA. Ours requires quite a lot. I'd toss in a MB battery for good measure

I have a 2005 M112. When you first enter the "dyno" the number after UB= the buss voltage, usually 12.6.

Hmm when I am in dyno mode it only gives me two options. One which allows me to turn dyno mode on and the other one just tells me the instrument cluster information, engine information, and software version.

Is it possible our instrument clusters could be different?

Read this re batteries in the 203 https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ease-help.html

If the fan is not running check for snow blockage etc.Try to physically turn it.

I'm kind of convinced that it is the battery now. I have been desperatly searching the forums and seening common problems that are caused by weak and old batteries. (The battery I have is dated september 2011 so it isnt old, just weak) I'm not getting enough voltage and I can just see the signs the car is giving me.
1) When using windows or radio on full blast all the lights dim.
2) my compressor for the suspension stopped working which im guessing is not receiving enough electricity to run properly since all wires are fine.
3) the damn heating
4) When unlocking and locking the car the blinkers are out of sync by a little

As for physically turning the fan, desperate needs calls for desperate measures. I stuck my hand in there and gave it my all to give it a physical start... Nothing.

I will be disconnecting the battery and getting a new, bigger, more powerful battery and reporting back on how it goes!
Thanks for the support guys, lets hope this fixes my problem

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, found out my brother and his wife are expecting a baby so I went on a shortcation (short vacation) hehe. But anyways, I have managed to do something about the A/C. Here is what went down.
1) Disconnected the battery for 2 hours and sanded the terminals a little bit to make sure it was rust free (as suggested) and that did not fix the problem
2) Bought new battery and installed it - that as well did not fix the problem
3) Took apart the console to find out the A/C control unit was not properly connected... I know, right. Well, my main issue is fixed but now I have a small leak in my fuel filter (check engine code p0442) $50 for the part at my local european import shop.

Thank you all for the support and suggestions. I'm glad my heating works again

Seriously, happened with my cigarette lighter as well. Wasn't working so I replaced the fuse and it didn't fix the problem. Take it out and notice it wasn't even plugged in
