Question Has your CD changer skipped on you?

experienced it twice already..

Both times during stoopid azzed driving... both instances the car was understeering.. front wheels slipping.. HOPPING actually.. so I don't think it's a high-G maneouver..

First one a few weeks ago was on gravel at the back of work. Second one just today during the rain I yanked the wheel at a corner. I remember today (fuzzy about the gravel incident) the front tires were hopping due to low traction. I think that's the reason why (if it should, at all?) it happened: the hop causes the front of the car to shudder, vibration causes the CD changer to skip.

Anybody else experience this?

Before you guys start.. yes I know.. I probably should stop doing that.

this never happened to me in my benz. but, in my family's suburban the cd changer skips and continues to skip till you pull out all the cds from each slot and adjust them back in. try that.

hmm.. it's only one-second instances though.. it just freezes for a second during the middle of that stunt.

I guess I really shouldn't be complaining... but kinda expected that it would hold up better ie., have some sort of shock protection like a 10-second buffer found on discmans.

You should turn on the ESP for audio mode.

I've had the cd changer skip on me multiple times... even when i wasn't taking turns too hard... perhaps just a tiny bump and it would skip, the dealer discovered that the fiber optic cable was too short and it was barely reached the changer... he changed it and it hardly ever skips...
