Seems like this model Mercedes isnt that much popular....

I personally own a 2006 C230 which I am selling now to get a different car. By asking around, going to dealerships to see what price they will offer for my car, they all say that this Benz isn't really popular. They all say that its just a basic car that Mercedes has made.

Let me state that my previous car was a e46 m3 and the reason why I bought this car 10 months ago was that it was cheap compared to my m3 and I needed money at that point.

To say that it's "unpopular" is....wrong. From what i've seen, its definetly the most sold car Mercedes has made(again... in my area over the past 10 years). Most sold =/= unpopular
Depending on mileage and overall condition you can probably get a high-point sale of 12k through a private sale.

I have 71k miles and its a clean car. I'm guessing those who are saying unpopular are the ones that want models higher prices than what the c230 offers.

If you're not smart enough to know that a dealer will say whatever sh*t they have to in order to get you a lower trade-in or make their own cars look better by comparison, then I guess you deserve to get the shaft.

The C class is Mercedes' most popular seller in the US, similar to the 3 series for BMW. Anyone who says differently is a twit.

The W203 is the best selling car Benz has made to date. Prior to that it was the W123.

Well what they are trying to say is that your model is the base of base models (in america)
does the c230 even have leather seats?
That being said, depending on mileage, options and overall condition, that should go for about 10-13k? (in canada at least)

It is a basic cheap car that Mercedes makes. To say it is unpopular is crazy however. The C Class sells the most because it is the cheapest of the Mercedes cars you can buy. When you have a car that starts at $35,000 or around there it will sell fast. A shame you had to trade in a M3 for a C230. You will be better off selling it yourself. Trade in value on used cars is always bad and the dealers will tell anyone your car is worth $0 and theirs is worth every penny they have it listed for. I am dealing with it right now while trading in for a W212 E350/E550.
Also whatever little they do give you they will turn around and put a crazy overprice sticker on it.

It's only the cheapest in the US. ROW has A & B class etc.

We'll be joining the ROW soon enough - MB had a private viewing of the CLA in Detroit this week. Slushbox only, which is a big to me. Still don't see any current Benz I'd have any interest in (and really only the SLK350 6-speed comes to mind in the used car market too).
