Question sunroof problems.....

Hey everyone. I just have a question. Does any of you people who has a Pano. roof have problems with the shade opening and getting tangled up in the reel? If so let me know, and is there a way I could fix it or do I have to make a trip to the dealer?
Thanks, Jason

Jason, go to your dealer - that's something with which you don't want to screw around.

I've had mine done twice, others have had problems with theirs also - at least you're not alone!

i would definately take it to the dealer. that's what the warranty is for. fortunatley mine hasn't given me any trouble. i probably shouldnt be saying that. thats why bought the extended warranty.

sunroof would stop halfway

when opening my sunroof lately, with the auto slide function, it would stop halfway, and i would have to push again d switch for it to move all the way. but for the closing function, there is no problem-it would close all the way with just a flick of a switch.

All you need to do is resynchronize it. Described in the manual.

i went t the dealer for a similar problem but mine was much worst. but anyways, the way to fix it might be like this....

push the sunroof switch forward (or up i forgot) and hold it in that position for like 15 seconds... it should then be fine..... if this does not work then sorry, but if it does then you can do it to any of the windows...

it is a 10-second 1-finger operation. Sure sounds scary!

its scary for me bcoz everytime my car has a problem, i have to request for a technician with the star diagnosis to fly over to my city...........and the "labor charges" are really scary all the time since i have no warranty.

to re-synch the sunroof....ill just have to hold the open and close position button for about 15seconds right? i can easily resynch my windows,,,,but i always have trouble with the moonroof.

manual states, pg 202, "press the switch in the "raise" direction, wait until the roof is fully raised and hold the switch for 1 second"

so press the sunroof up, hold for a sec (do it for 2-3 sec to be sure) and you should be ok.

Sunroof Stuck

I just bought a used 2001 C320 a week ago and love the car.

But just an hour ago my sunroof refused to go down and is stuck. When i pull the sunroof switch I hear the sunroof tick and try to go down (And even goes down about 2mm) but it stops and goes up again.

Is there anything I can do or try to fix this problem? The Mercedes dealer is closed for next two days, I live in Iceland, the wheater news are predicting rain tomorrow and on top of it all, I don't have a garage

I would be thankful for all the help you can give me.

Read the manual your car should come with a peice of metal that can be stuck somewhere and you can close your Roof manually with it.

It sounds like a broken gear - this tickling sound... I would try to force it down - especially in your conditions... Ask someone to *gently* press on top of it while you operate the switch - this may help. Just try not to overdo by forcing it down too hard.

I found it there, closed the sunroof manually, and after that it seems to be working fine.

Everything solved and no need to take it to the dealer. Very happy at the moment

sunroof problem is pretty common. It stopped working a year ago but no problems after the dealer... It all depends on how capable your dealer is.
