HELP - "Restraint System Visit Workshop! SRS"

Hey guys,

So I turned on my car, wasn't in an accident and then it gave me this error message. Never seen it before and on the rest of the forums it seems that everyone else that had this message had either been in some level of an accident or if not a whole slew of other problems were occurring at the same time. Any one have an idea if this is a serious issue that needs to be fixed? I ran over some major potholes over the weekend, so could it be that I just loosened something up and that's what caused it?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

I had that warning and it turned out to be a broken wire in the door. Mercedes fixed it up and reset the warning, pretty cheap actually.

From what I have read here you are best to go get the code read and find out why it's there. Mercedes are the only ones that can clear the warning I think.

My theory was it's the saftey system (airbags, belts etc) so it is the one thing I would rather it get taken care of at the dealer. If my wife got into an accident and something didn't function the way it should due to a short cut I took, I'd be shattered.

Yup turned out to be the same thing, right rear door airbag. I have a local indy that ran the service department at a stealership for 20 years so he got it done right. Cost under $200 CAD, so not too bad I guess.

Sorry, hairi, the SRS problem will not keep the car from starting. You have more than one problem -- need to check the malfunction codes.

W463 CAM module? What is this?

Hey guys,

Repairing and reinstalling new led door sill entry on front passenger side and wasn’t working. Pulled this module out bottom front passenger foot panel and inspected and noticed rust of some kind. Pulled it out and the instrument cluster begins to show all these errors intermittently. Trying to find and order this unit but know one knows what this even is.
