ABS/ESP Unavailable
I have a 07 C280 Lux
I had the rotors replaced and pads. Also repacked front wheel bearings. Replaced 2 sensor wires. My ABS light is on and I have a message that says ABS/ESP unavailable see operators manual. We have checked wires and connections with no obvious problems. Any ideas? Could it be that the battery wasn't disconnected when this was done? I have exhausted all solutions.

Well if you can't figure it out and have checked everything you touched I would say it is time to get the car hooked up with STAR and see what is causing the issue. You can either just take to dealer or see if an indy has star or depending on where you are located see if a member such as myself lives near you and would hook you up.

I have exhausted my ideas on PM including damaged ABS sensor or maybe something rolling around the trunk & clouting the Yaw sensor etc.
Only thing I have not suggested is unplugging the ESP unit on the front of the ABS block & checking for corrosion & cleaning with switch cleaner.

I'm going to an indy in the morning that has STAR. I just got back from a 120 mi round trip and twice after the light came on it went off briefly. I'm kinda leaning toward something being loose or dirty.

My car almost stalls about 5 minutes into the warm up stage and the ESP light comes on along with the Stepronic lights...then it runs well and both warning lights go off, but the check engine light comes on. If I stop the car and turn it off, I have to try and start it 3 or 4 times before the engine actually starts; it turns over but won't start.
My mechanic, a MB specialist can't find a code based on his equipment and is referring me to MB...which I would like to avoid as they won't put a price on the diagnoistic but suggest that it will not be less than $200 ++ if they can't find anything wrong immediately. Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.

Ok my indy has figured out my problem. Do I feel stupid. When I repacked the wheel bearings I damaged the Front left seal and replaced it with a generic one. Bad idea. The front seals on my car have magnetic sensors for the ABS, I could kick my own *** for not noticing that. DO DRINK AND DO BRAKE JOBS!!
