c230k owners...did your insurance go up much?
I know each person's situation is different, but I was wondering how much your insurance went up when you got a c230k? Anyone know if it is in a high risk group?
For a 6 month policy, I currently pay under $300 each for my 99 ML320 and 97 Subaru Outback Sport.
I've got a c230k on order for late Dec build.

Insurance Rates for C230
Telling you how much my insurance increased would be useless since we live in different areas, are likely different ages, have different driving records, etc.
However, I compared insurance rates for the C230K, BMW 325Ci and 330Ci, and the Volvo S60.
The C230 was the cheapest followed by the S70. The BMWs were the highest.
The 325Ci was about $30/6 months more than the C230K.

2002 C230K Sports Coupe
I just added my C230 coupe to my policy (2000 Suburban and 2001 Tacoma 4X4) and it increased by $400 for the year. I'm 32, and in the LA area, so I'm happy. My agent (Kemper Ins.) told me that the car is NOT in a high risk category....yet....Is it me, or does EVERYONE else feel the need to redline this thing between every stoplight? I love it!

C230 Sport Coupe
I'm with Geico. My C230 replaced my 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe, and my rate went up 30 bucks per/mo. I was surprised there were no other discounts offered for such a safe vehicle, but it wasn't all that bad. It totals out to 661.00 for a 6 month policy -$100 ded. on comprehensive and $250 on collission. I'm 25 y/o male but I've also got 5 positive stars on my record. In VA, that is as good as it gets. How did I keep such a clean record? I NEVER admit to guilt on a speeding ticket, ALWAYS show up in court, and ALWAYS send my lawyer a Christmas card .

Irish, maybe I should have asked what % it went up?
For those of us who don't have their C coupes yet I do think it would interesting to know if everyone was suddenly paying $1,200/yr just for the coupe because it was in a risk group due to it be 2-door and supercharged.
My insurance agent says $298 for 6 months, which is $50 more than I'm paying on the 97 Sube. I have no idea what coverages I has or the deductibles.

C230k coupe
I am 28, living in NY. mine went up about $100. Considering I am paying $1300 for six months, did not make much difference. Too bad the speeding tickets show up for around 3 years in the driving record.

Bud,
My current car is a 96 Chevy Corsica so comparisons with the C230 are pretty meaningless.
P.S. I just got a ticket for running a red light. First ticket I have gotten in 11 years. (I still swear the light was yellow!)
In Nebraska you can go to a class (4-hour) save a few bucks and keep it off your record. But you can only do the class once every three years. I think I'll pay the ticket and save the class for the really big ticket I expect to get when I get my C230! LOL
