Help! Horrible Coolant Leak!

I keep getting the "Coolant Check Level" message. I add coolant to the reservoir, start the car, and almost immediately the error message shows again. Today I noticed that water is actually overflowing from the wiper fluid reservoir, even with the cap shut. How is that? The coolant system isn't connected to the washer fluid system, right? I also get the "Add Windshield Washer Fluid" message, even though the water is overflowing from the place where I put the fluid in.

Anyone have any idea about this?

My c230 is a 2005 with 100,000 miles, and is probably the worst car I have ever owned. I really want to love it, but there are so many problems, one after another. I could use some good news.

I have noticed on this site that the 203 windscreen washer level alarm is activated by the coolant level alarm. That is the only connection between the two to my knowledge.

I would double check that the coolant is the correct level & also lower the level of the washer fluid & see whether the alarm disappears.

Green - Will replacing the sensor keep the water from over flowing from the reservoir?

Sammy - Here is a list of the problems that I have had. I have owned the car a little less than two years:

- Raido stopped working. Would power on, no sound. It started working again after two months.

- Broken door handle passanger side.
- Broken door handle driver's side.
-Antena fell apart
- Broken cup holder in center console
- CD will not eject from dash CD player
- Faild inspection due to no OBD read (fixed this with a fuse, though)
- Coolant leak one (corrected)
- Coolant leak two (new)
- Oil leak. Pretty bad. Just found this when working on the coolant leak. Leaves puddles on the ground.
- Water overflowing from wiper fluid reservoir
- One touch sunroof open no longer works. I have to press the button 6 or 7 times to make the glass inch open. As of now, it still closes properly.

I really wanted this car, and still want to love it. It is not living up to what I thought the Mercedes brand quality would be. I previously had a Dodge Neon that I bought new, and put 230,000 miles on it before trading it for the c230. The only problem I ever had with the Neon was a spark pulg issue early on.

Dragon - you are correct...things could be much worse. My problems have all been pretty minor so far, thankfully, but I'm still disappointed. A premium car should be just that - premium, and not have cheap door handles that break after a couple years. I've read that this is a common problem with the C Class models. I will say that it does feel very good to drive it. It's a quick little care, and it looks pretty smooth to boot. Thank you for your feedback. I should have joined this forum a long time ago.

Green - I'm guessing the programming can only be done by a Mercedes dealer?

The programming of the sunrrof, door locks and windows is in the user manual or rear in the forums. Search problems if battery is disconected.

ur car is leaking because it has an engine reaches close to 200 degrees probably more in other places. things need to be replaced download DIY guides and perform the work. or if ur too lazy pay a indy mechanic. i got my waterpump, thermo, and coolant flushed along with an oil change for 505$. Pretty good deal for a mercedes.
