turn signal in mirror problem re-appears

Hi Guys:
In an earlier post I thought I had fixed the turn signal in the mirror. The problem has returned (I get the message on my dash). So I have turn signals from that mirror sometimes but not all the time.
The pins from the mirror that connect to the housing appear dark in color. I'd like to clean the pins but I'm scared to break them. Or are the pins easily replaceable?
I also wonder if I inserted a thin wire into the female orfice (insert joke here if you must) I might make for a better connection.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Doug

The whole LED assembly is relatively cheap.. on my old 2005 the pins corroded on the passenger side and I had issues like you describe. I simply replaced the assembly at around 40,000 miles and for the next 106,000 I owned the car it never reappeared.

Yes, I would say that replacing them would be a more viable alternative than trying to clean them.

I think I have my original ones somewhere at home still. If you want 'em, let me know, and I'll give them to you for free.

Now, the problem of the thin wire not touching the sides of the female orifice is another matter entirely.....

At least it will help with the troubleshooting.

Thanks Tommy/Lilbenz230.
Are the pins or that little assembly easily replaceable? Can you advise me?
I could not tell if they are part of a larger wiring part.
The housing seems OK at least from a visual inspection so if I can simply replace the pins that'd be great.
Thanks Doug

The whole LED assembly can be replaced relatively easily and cheaply. I don't think just the pins can be replaced.

Thanks for the info. I'll replace that part and hopefully that clears up the problem.

That should do it. I think moisture contamination corrodes the pins and that causes it to sometimes work, sometimes not. That's how it was with mine.
