C240 stalles and won't start up please help
Hi,
I have a 2001 c240 that has been exultant. We went on holiday an left the car at home when we returned we noticed that the alarms of the car was chirping. After checking we noticed that the battery ran down and i gave it a charge. I installed the charged battery and the car started right up but now it developed a new problem the car will run for a short while and then just stall. Then it will not start again, I have checked and noticed that there is presure in the fuel line after it stalles but it looks like there is no spark on the plugs.

Fuel, spark, spark at the right time, air are required. Read codes with an OBDII scanner.
Check.
CPS (crankshaft position sensor)
Coil packs & plug wires,
Air filter & that airbox is clipped down tightly over the MAF
Fuel pressure at the front rail should be 3.8 bar or 55 psi while cranking.
Fuel filter
Start enable fuses 31, 52 & 57
Good luck.

Great ~ common problem. If it ever happens again pour cold water over the CPS. Cooling it down will sometimes allow a restart.
