Some mods for my W203

Hey guys!

I just bought my first car, a silver c200 kompressor avantgarde.
It's pretty stock except for the avantgarde pack, xenon, leather seats, 17" AMG rims etc. I'm interested in doing some more to it, but I'm not interested in spending a fortune.

At first I'm planning on getting some new headlights, but I'm not sure which one to get. The projector ones looks pretty cool, but I've heard you have to invest a lot to get some good ones. Could anyone link some cheap ones on ebay that ships to Norway? And it has to support the xenon I already have, without too much modification.

I would also like to switch out the halogen bulbs with LED. I'm thinking of putting some cree led in the fog lights, but I'm not sure what to get in the parking lights and license plate lights. The whiter, the better. I would like it to match my 4300k xenon. Could anyone link me some good ones?

I'm thinking of using these in my fog lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-6W-9006-HB4-COB-LED-High-Power-DRL-Fog-Light-Running-Lamp-Bulb-White-12V-/310647233110?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4854049a56&vxp=mtr
What about these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Canbus-Error-Free-3-SMD-LED-License-Plate-Lights-6418-C5W-36mm-Festoon-Tag-/170962300114?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ce25acd2&vxp=mtr
And when it comes to canbus, does these built-in resistors usually work, or do I have to buy some resistors myself to bypass the canbus-system?

Help is highly appreciated!

And also I'd be glad if you gave me any tips on what else I can do to it to make it look better.

Try these:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/151002385841?...84.m1438.l2649

I think there are some forum members that have these and the price drops pretty often down to $3##.

AZN optics has every LED available for our cars. Kinda pricey, but they do have built in resistors.

Also, you mentioned you have xenons. Are they mounted inside halogen housing?

Thanks! They were a little expensive though, since it's probably going to cost a lot more to get them shipped to Norway including all the charges etc. But is the depo headlights the only good ones? Everything cheaper is just crap?

Yeah, there's xenon originally from Mercedes, but only in low beam. High beam is halogen.

The xenon seems to be in a housing for itself according to the pictures in the book that came with the car.

Btw, would a K&N filter make some noticeable difference on my car? Or is there no point unless I'm getting a new exhaust aswell?

That's strange. I've only ever heard of Xenons in projector housing.

It'll give your throttle sound a bit more grunt and you'll feel a slight change from what I've read lol. I'm still wary of getting it cuz of some horror stories with the MAF, but it seems to be fine for the most part.

Yeah I´ve heard that too. I just thought it would give a cooler sound, but I think I´ll put it on hold for now.

Also, I would like another headunit in my car. I was just thinking of getting a regular 1din Pioneer with aux, usb and bluetooth (Pioneer DEH-X8500BT for example), or would that look weird in my car? Do you guys know of any cheap 1 or 2-din HU`s that has Bluetooth and would look good in my car? I don´t like using the aux because of the cablemess, and I would like the handsfree aswell.

After searching around on the internet about the Depo headlights, it seems like I cannot install them when I have factory xenon? Or atleast that I have to modify a looooot, is this true? In that case, do you guys know of any other good looking headlights I can install?

Thanks in advance

LED's are a good start. idk how they are for the headlights. I would go HIDs for those. DEPO headlights are good too. Also i have a pioneer double din. if you look at my thread you'll see. IMO i wouldn't get a single din, it would look kinda out of place. but its up to you.

For the HU, no reliable double din will come cheap. If anything I would suggest getting a Dynavin. They're the same price as most if not all HU, and it has a really great OEM look to it. Includes satnav, Bluetooth, steering wheel integration, even wifi and 3G (monthly price for 3G).

Depo headlights will work with Xenons as long as you switch the settings from Xenon to halogen (I'm pretty sure)

Thanks for the tips, your car looks sweet btw!
I´m still a bit unsure which LEDs to get in parking lights and license plate lights though... I don´t know if the "built-in" resistors are crap and doesn´t work at all... But in that case I´ll just get some resistors myself off ebay and connect to the LED bulbs. Do you know of any cheap ones from ebay with white lights, something similar to 4300k, so it matches my xenon?

What do you think of the license plate lights I linked in the first post? If you could link me any good parking lights and licenseplate lights from ebay which are cheap, that would be GREAT! (w5w park, and c5w license).

And how do you like the pioneer 2-din HU btw?

Thanks for answering. I´m still a bit unsure when it comes to which depo headlights I´m getting. For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-01-07-Mercedes-Benz-W203-4DR-5DR-D2S-AMG-Bi-XENON-HIGH-LOW-HID-HEADLIGHT-/121086923955?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3157d4b3&vxp=mtr
Here it says: "IF you have Factory Xenon Headlights:
* For the Originally Xenon equipped car owners, please look our other auction for that setup." ... What does this mean? Do I have to find some other version of the headlights?

If you want a plug and play setup, then yes, you'll have to find ones that support factory xenons.

Found these, looks like they can rewire them for cars with factory xenon. Too bad I won't get xenon high beam this way though.

You could always retrofit some projectors into the housing.

A friend of mine was a bit unlucky and damaged my front bumper at the bottom, so I´m considering getting a new one.

Is there any GOOD cheap AMG copies out there that ships to Norway, or are most of them very bad with horrible fitment? If so, I could just get another standard front bumper, but an AMG front bumper would look very nice Or do you know of any other good looking ones?

What about this one for example? It was very cheap, but it might turn out to be crap..(?) Has anyone bought anything from this dealer before? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-C-CLASS-W203-AMG-DESIGN-FRONT-BUMPER-/281084068032?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4171ea80c0&vxp=mtr

Gary At Suvneer has really good AMG replicas. He has a vendor thread somewhere around here.

I have mtec led lights in my parking (city) lights. They are pretty cool for $20 shipped on ebay. Look them up.

What's the difference between the classic, elegance and avantgarde front bumper? Are they all the same except for the chrome trim? And this trim can be moved over from my old bumper, right?

Your personal thread? I only saw the difference between classic-avantgarde grill there, or is it another thread you're talking about? Did you change your front bumper as well?

Ya that's for the difference between classic and avantgarde. Front bumper is stock and I intend to keep it that way. Gonna throw on some Lamin-X soon though.
