A/c receiver drier
Here are the two different ones. Please enlighten me on the correct part.
The top is the insert that goes into the bottom piece.

I wonder if anyone's ever replaced the receiver drier on here?.....
2002 C240. Mine just used the "drier insert". I think midway thru the 2005 year they may have changed over from being able to just replace the cartridge to replacing the whole assembly. On my 02 C240 the drier assembly is mounted vertically between the headlight & the radiator (passenger side).
The 05 & newer models I believe use the drier assembly mounted horizontally below the radiator. You will have to remove the lower engine cover to have a look.
Here's a photo of where my drier assembly is on a 2002 model. Good Luck.

it only mentions needing a 12" extension, torx, allen, and "small hands" Hah. And it looks like I may be needing to order the bottom pictured since I did read the drier is located under the radiator.

If yours is the complete drier assembly, I don't think you will need this tool.

If yours is the complete drier assembly, I don't think you will need this tool.
