aux cable adaptation
hey, i finally found the adapter that goes under the globe box and before buying the harness cable i went to a car shop and the guy told me that i dont need necessarily to buy the mercedes adapter, that he can connect a normal Aux cable to the cable that was on behind the glove box. I think that that can be possible because its just a ground, left, right cable and i want to know i some of you have tried this, or if this wouldnt be good to my car.. what do you recommend?
Thanks
Thanks

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
Did he give you any indication of how you would listen to the aux in? I mean, would it still be the aux input setting, or would you have to put it on something like CD and then pause the CD to keep the line dead.

if you want an OE look go with the AUX cable adapter it comes with the right plugs etc and it is a plug and play for 2005 and up, for 2005 and below models it is the same AUX cable but on one end it has pins attached to the open wire and you juts have to insert these pins in the already existing plug in your harness.....go to this website for the correct cable......much better and all OEM...http://www.commandonline.co.uk/
Just installed a command nav on my 2002 C230 with the AUX in cable, bought all my conversion adapters from this website, super helpful and reliable.....all OEM look..

'03 c240
I have a '03 C240 that was originally not equipped with the COMMAND Navigation. I installed an OEM COMMAND center and noticed there is an AUX option. Do I need to buy an adapter to plug in the back of the navigation or just use a regular auxiliary cord?

(You guys don't know what you are missing ... after installing the Pioneer AVIC in my car I can't imagine going back to a dinosaur audio system with an aux cable ... !)
