OK, then.
I'll do some body cavity search on the C230, take some measurements and see where I would like to get a sub installed.
Any idea on cost? with 8" woofer

peace

Hmmm...Wyatt, why would you think I was talking about you? Besides, you missed the point of the message. Touchy, no, I was just pointing out how people with certain personalities choose to be combative rather than helpful. It is a sign of insecurity or the need for self-esteem and in most cases causes the person to be further isolated from the one he wishes would validate him. Food for thought.

Yes, peace.
An 8" woofer can run from $30 to $150US each. The cabinet is a good do-it-yourself project if you are handy. It will cost some big $$ if you have a custom box made by a shop. A good amp will cost about $300 or more. Dont skimp on the amp quality, make sure it will put out twice the wattage into 2 ohms as it will into 4ohms. This is a good measure of build quality and design. Big power comes in big boxes, there is a relation between the size of the amp and output. Dont fall for those tiny amps that say 300watts output! You want the power rated RMS with less than 1% THD not peak power, it is BS. Once you narrow your choices down email me and I let you know what I think.

Gosh mdp branching out into psychology now too. Hold on I know I have a couple of psych books lying around here somewhere. Oh wait I'm doing it again being combative, maybe it's a Freudian slip. You're loads of fun mdp!

As far as validation I had loftier goals in mind perhaps MB-BOB would validate me?

Being combative is helpful just a different method of elucidation.

Class D, nice for efficiency, good for a sub amp but I would not use one above 200hz. The switching makes them sound really ugly at higher freqs. You'll find lots of class D sub amps for sale cheap at places like MCM. To me, the only real amp is one whos biased into at least high AB with full complimentary differential inputs, like the ones I design and build . I throw in full voltage regulation on my input/driver stages for added stability and image clarity. I could go on, but you get the idea. If you really are hot for class D, take a look at class G, it is much more refined.
