I'm thinking about doing a ls1 swap to get a little more power on this car.
It's the 2004 C230K 6speed sedan.

What are some popular swaps done in our cars?

I take it that you are joking. Our cars were not designed with a V8 in mind, it will not fit hence why they extended the front of the C55. You would be better off buying a used C32 or C55 or even C350; E550 or E55 if you want more power. The cost and aggrevation is not worth it and would be near impossible to get everything working

I'm not joking, I'm just ignorant to the subject obviously. I might as well buy another car. Thanks for the input.

From what I recall, the LS1 is a smaller V8. You might be able to fit it. Maybe. But you would definitely have to cut through the firewall and delete a lot of electronics to fit it.

Even if you can physically get it in,... good luck coding the Corvette LS1 engine's ECU to work with your other Mercedes computerized components (ignition, transmission, HVAC, etc,..),.... and we're not even at the SCN coding yet,...

It'll be like having our software interact with alien software from another planet,.... Oh, wait, that happen in that stupid movie Independence Day,... where Earthlings destroyed the attacking alien's mother ship by planting a software bug,.... Duh!
