Heresy! You are no longer worthy of Orion Blue.

It is a nice color, but I'm not a huge fan of it in a Benz, unless you went with a Designo or custom interior. Gray with any MB interior would put me to sleep. Now, BMW on the other hand, has a beautiful burgundy leather interior that looks great with a gray exterior. But I don't want to bring up the old MB vs BMW argument again (though their color combo options put MB to shame).

I started seeing this color on the street for a couple months now. I like it.
but even if it was available on the time I got my car I wouldn't have choose it since most of the government car around here are in that color.

Hmmm. That color is at first really nice and apealing but after a while you get sick/depressed of it. My g-friend got a brand new V-dub w/that color because she thought it was cool, but after a few months she hated it because it just isnt "vibrant" like white, blue even silver. A year later we got her out of the car because of that reason. Weird but true...

I would like to see the car in person before jumping to conclusions, but I saw a Beetle in a similar color today under direct sun light and was absolutely beautiful.

My first car ordered was pewter because it looked good on the screen. I was actually looking for tectite but they discontinued that for '03 models, so I re-ordered an '04 and I saw this color, it 's closer to tectite than pewter, but I just found the color a bit dull, so I went with black opal. It's a nice color, I wish they had tectite instead.

its not a bad colour. but imho, nothing beats ORION BLUE. the car sparkles like a champion with 3 coats of klasse sg on it. ok i'll shut up now.

Ah, memories. David, remember when people barely knew of Orion? It's so funny to me now - we were searching for any pics of it at that time, and now it's everywhere.

I still rarely see any Orion Blue coupes (and even fewer Orion Blue sedans). It's definitely the best looking color of the metallic paints MB offered, but I couldn't justify spending $750 on paint.

I remember very well. I searched high and low for a picture of that darn colour. The worst was when I found pics of the bahama blue clk thinking it was orion. I was so disappointed when my mistake was brought to my attention.

Or the time I freaked out cause I thought it would look honda's electric blue. Yes my friend, the memories indeed.

If we had an OB fan club, who would be the president, me or you? Food for thought...

I agree there aren't too many OB C classes on the road. I've noticed about 4 other sedans and maybe 10 coupes here in Toronto.

I think if it were possible to ban people for being annoying about a car color, we would've been off the board in those days. You know that MB-BOB was just waiting for a reason.

Not really. Back in the eighties Benzes were all most popular in black. Hardly ever see a Benz in silver until the past few years.

But silver is purty though I gotta admit. Silver and black are my picks.
