exact oil level readout safe margins
What are the upper and lower limits and average amount of oil level I should see in the readout? I want to make sure I don't let it get too low and I don't want to overfill it if I ever need to add any.
Thanks!

It’ll vary of course contingent upon engine speed, windage, upstairs circulation, viscosity, drainback and chassis’ attitude/dynamics as the level around the sensor is also effected.
This can be graphically demonstrated by viewing the aforementioned readouts whilst underway.
All this with the same initial not running/not running quantity, e.g., 8 quarts.
Workshop safe margin method is to measure oil quantity, volume, and its resultant sump height up from the bottom of the pan via the extraction tube which eliminates several variables and all electronics from the equation entirely.
I have that information readily available in the archives, although those safe margin measurements are chassis and drivetrain specific.

key to first position, mileage on the display; press the reset knob three times, should hear a beep and battery voltage displayed on the screen, then scroll up (I think) to see the info with oil and stuff, then turn the ignition to ON (do not start).
