Help with my engine size?
Ok, I'm more inclined to believe I have the 2.3 based on engine set up, the oil filter and the year... BUT, Here's my question.
I have a 2002 C230 Kompressor Coupe.
The stickers under the hood say it is a I believe 1796cc which is a 1.8l.
It also says it's a 1.8l... Even the Benz dealer in my state says "The Coupes came out with the 1.8l in 02" ...HOWEVER! EVERYWHERE I looked, EVERYWHERE I searched Says that in 2002 Has a 2.3. NO mention on the internet ANYWHERE of a 2002 with a 1.8l that I have found. Even looked up 2002 Coupes and people talk about having the 2.3l. Everything I find says c230 coupes went to the 1.8 in 03.
So Thinking I had the 1.8l, I got an oil filter and air filter for the 03 1.8... AND they where the WRONG ONES... So? Is the 1.8l in 02 Just set up like the 2.3? Or is my sticker and the Benze parts guy wrong and I have a 2.3?
Or... Just a thought... I could go the plausable route and say that's not the stock hood and someone threw an 03 hood on which would explain why it's fitment kinda sucks...

Where are you? US got W203 & derivatives later than ROW.
Does your engine look like this = M111 2.3l
Or this = M271 1800cc

then it's M111 (the "2.3" everybody is referring to). But apparently M111 came in various flavors.

Yes, Mine looks like the Red/Silver Top.. the M111.
So Then my assumption is that The hood is from an 03 then being that I think it was wrecked at one point *before I bought it*.

Im glad It's the 2.3, I've found more aftermarket things for it, and virtually NOTHING for for the 1.8l
