DRL Electronic or a fuse
Hi there guys
My Daylight Running Lights was working before.
I am not sure is it the Parking lights or Day Light running lights, on the fuse diagram.
When looking on the fuse layout for the w203 I see parking lights and the description is it says it is electronic.
I changed all the lighting settings and cant seem to get them to work, the bulbs is one hundred, and no faults on the physical bulb.
Any input will be appreciated.
Warm Regards
Stephan

Thank you Glyn!
By electronic, you mean it is set up on the screen on the dashboard?
And the dipped beams is connected to the Day Light Running Lights.
Warm Regards
Stephan

Electronic means the lamp does not need a fuse. The lamp is switched on and off with a transistor. A computer monitors the current flowing in the lamp. If the current is too high the transistor is switched off. This protects the wiring without a fuse.
The dipped beam headlights are fused. They are also called low beam in the USA. They are used as a DRL (daytime running light.) The DRL's can be switched on or off by using the steering wheel switches and navigating to the menu to set that option.

DRL for 2006 W203
Hi All
Name is Johan, new to the forum and a prosperous 2015 to you all!
I have a few questions on the controversial subject of fitting after market DRL to a near perfect Merc front bumper lower centre grill (Valence) of a 2006 W203 C180k?.
If anybody can assist, please advise? Please see attached photo's.
Regards
Johan

To be fitted in upper left/right corners. There is a plastic mounting section inside as well.

- Has anybody perhaps attempted to fit the DRL-238 LED DAY LIGHT-5SMD CIGO 12V DRL to the W203 Valence grill? Successfully or not, without it looking like after-market crappy fitments? I am battling to visualize the DRL's not looking like crap in the Valence? If it cannot look very near factory fitted its a no-go for me in any case.
- Also, is it possible to remove the Valence grill WITHOUT removing the entire bumper? (I think not )
If anybody can assist, please advise? Please see attached photo's.
Regards
Johan
