Apparently there the S mode has 6 or 7 different automatic shifting maps that adapts to your driving style to ensure that it is smooth. W has only the one mode that starts off in 2nd gear as not to lose traction off the start.

I think the manual says it's "Standard" and "Comfort".

Lol well the only difference is how the powertrain responds to your commands via the pedal. The system will try to adapt to your style and select a map that it feels is most suited to you.

True. It is "Standard" and "Comfort"...

In "Standard" it starts from 1-st gear and you have faster throttle response and in "Comfort" it starts from 2-nd gear and you have slower and smother gear shifts...

reset the map by turning car off, hold down the gas peddle and restart, holding the gas peddle(i think this is the combination) look on here for exact. then if you drive aggtessively it will do that all the time, but it will relearn the way you drive and respond accordingly.
