Service Survey

I went for couples of service in San Francisco but I did not receive any service survey letter. The service advisor wants to trade the survey letter for a free detail for my car . Is there something I have to fill in order to get the survey letter? Thanks

report the creep to MB USA

These surveys will be a complete joke if dealers are allowed to offer baksheesh in exchange for being able to fill out "dealer surveys" themselves. Tell the service advisor to get bent

Service A

Just had my Service A done today but I bought him the service survey from my last visit...well, I didn't expect anything from him since he didn't charge me to turn on Bi-Xenon and Navi on display. Guess what, after he complete the write up for my service, he said he will give me a gift too (since I told him I brought him a gift when hand over the survey which he didn't even know I brought them for him.) Anyway, he bring me to parts department and said pick anything around $200. I thought he was joking. I pick a watch for my wife (since I just bought a T-touch by Tissot) and say thanks.
When he call me about the car is ready before noon, he said he has a surprise gift in my trunk. I thought he might just give me a hat, pen or blanket...Well, here is my gift ....
I brought the gift home and my wife thought it must some cheapy watch...well, for $200, this is a nice watch and she loves it!

I got some $100 dollar worth of free badges the first time, and then free $175 dollar worth detail just couple months ago. I could've probably ask for something else that's worth $175, but I needed the detail...

you'll eventually get the survey if your service advisor is asking you to bring it to them for free stuff. it usually means that it should arrive to you in a week or two.

I also got a very expensive gift for handing over my survey. According to the dealer each month 5 people are selected to get the survey from MBNA. The funny thing is I love my dealer, I would have given perfect marks anyway!

I ended up with a detail, PHONE and AUDIO removed, as well as a take-home gift worth around $200...

I don't think this is wrong...

since the dealer will take really care of you and you will get a great service with gifts. It's a win-win situation.
I wonder what do they get if they get great marks on survey? From what I ready before, dealer gets a bonus check from MBUSA for new car sale survey...somewhere between $2-3K for dealer and sales. Maybe service department also get this kind of bonus incentives.
I forgot to bring in my New Car Sales Suvery to dealer so I missing one gift from my Sales. Damn, it might worth another $200.
Can't wait to get my next survey so I can get another $200 gift. And I already know what I'm going to get. hee hee

ps. I purchase and service at Auto Stigelar @ Encino. PM me for Service Advisor.

If I have to pay $130 for the Service A. That's not too bad. Consider they have to do:

8 qts of Mobel 1 0-40W @ $3/qt
Oil filter ~ $10
A/C filter ~ $25
Check and Top all fluids
--rotate tire which doesn't apply to me.
1 day Rental car
Car wash

Not to mention a cup of cappuccino while you waiting for rental car.

Sheesh, and people wonder why the service departments in certain dealers suck so badly....

It sounds like about 99% of the "service surveys" are filled out by the dealers themselves. Not only is it unethical, it explains a lot. Way to go guys

With all these good "Service Surveys", MB's JD Power rating still below average. This really tell you a lot too.
