Vibration/Shaking in D&R when stopped

In my ’03 C230 Coupe I get a vibration when I am stopped in drive and reverse. I can feel it in the seats and the steering wheel, it feels like the car is on the verge of stalling, but it never does. The RPM is at 600. If I turn on the A/C the vibration gets stronger. I have replaced the alternator, idler pulley, and tensioner pulley. Can someone suggest what I should try next?

I have been trolling this forum for years and finally signed up for an account. I have read so many great posts, so thank you for all those that have helped me in the past without knowing.

Check for vacuum leaks/cracked hoses, maybe clean the throttle body.
Good luck!

Check you tranny fluid level and make sure theres no tranny fluid in your radiator.

Might also be leaking from the pan or connector. If you haven't flushed the tranny, now's probably time to do so.

Thank you Dachigga. I had the issue with the Valeo radiator and ended up having to replace the transmission!

Check your motor mounts in addition to what was mentioned above. My neighbor had a rumbling in his CLK320 when he put it in R or D and held on the brake and it turns out one of the motor mounts were bad. At that point he just replaced both.

Just an update, I visibly inspected the hoses, but was unable to notice any cracks. I also cleaned the throttle body. Unfortunately there was no change. I scheduled a change of the trans mount and motor mounts, so we'll see how that goes.

motor & transmission mounts and suspension components

I also had this problem, not once but twice. Turns out that I had bad motor and transmission mounts! they wanted 1100 bucks to replace at the stealership. the first time I changed them and bought oe parts that did not last long at all. Make sure you that you buy mercedes parts. some dealerships will give you a discount if you ask. the second time around It was all the front suspension components (upper/lower control arms, and tie rods) and the two motor mounts and the transmission mount. if you are handy you can do it. I had to pull the exhaust system except for the headers. if you have box allen/rachet 16mm you can do easily because the motor mounts are under the headers. Good luck.

Vibration is gone!!! Hasn't felt this good since 2003. The rubber on the motor mounts was nearly gone, and the gap in the trans mount was large enough to fit a sausage finger.
