SRS error - 2202 C240

Got this error a couple days ago. I haven't done any work to the car lately that would have triggered it (last thing I did was install a water pump a couple weeks ago).

Where do I start to trouble shoot this?

I think, you have to check Seat Occupancy Sensor and to replace it /in case of failure/ with new or with emulator.

sit in passenger seat and see if it goes of, clean the seat belt buckle too with electronics cleaner.

Thanks - Sorry, but I have a couple dumb questions:

This is only for the passenger seat, right?

What is the difference between an emulator and a sensor?

Thought it was SRS, now crazy electrical issue

Ok, now it gets weird. My wife was driving it tonight and out of nowhere she gets about 4 different malfunction errors and interior and exterior lights start flashing on and off, and windshield wipers went on. She pulled over and let it sit for a few minutes and back to normal, with just the one error message - SRS. What the heck? Any ideas?

Oh yeah, I replaced the alternator a month ago, in case that could have anything to do with this.

I bought an SRS emulator from Lithuania and connected per instructions and the light still does not go out. I am thinking it might not be the seat sensor, but likely the seatbelt sensor. My daughter clicked her seatbelt in only seconds before the SRS error came on originally. Is there an emulator for the seatbelt sensor?

Once SRS light goes ON you have to reset SRSystem by Star diagnosis or Carsoft 7.4, I think.
Now I wait my Carsoft Multiplexer by this seller and will write you for the result.

I have read this before. However, the directions for the emulator say that once the emulator is connected correctly, the SRS light should go off.
