They might...

Rear folding seats is an option. Check your window sticker to see if you paid for it. If you have folding rear seats there are two latches at the top of the trunk lid, one on each side, in the trunk. There are also two pull handles were the seat bottom and seat back meet so you can life the seat bottoms out.

Now...you should be glad I told you that because I think this is a case where someone would have told you to STFF...

Cannot put rear seat down in '02 c240

Hi, im new to the forum, so im not sure if this question has been recently asked..
Have an '02 C240, and want to put a snowboard in the trunk/rear passenger area. I CANNOT figure out how to put the rear seat down for the life of me. Read the manual and its not helping. My car does not have the center console pulldown whereas i can push the ski/snowboard through with the protective bag. I do not have split rear seats, nor do i have the red backrest pushbutton that the manual refers to in the trunk area.
What i did find was the two metal swivel tabs at the base of the backrest closest to each door, thats it....
so, either i do not have the ability to put the seat down or my college degree has failed me. thanks for the help!!!

I'm not sure about your model year, but I know that split-folding rear seats were an option on my car ('05). It's very possible that your seats don't fold down.

If you do not have split seat then it does not fold down.

if you did have that option, the seat would fold down like this:

i can put the snowboard in my car trunk (at an angle) and i do not have the 'seat fold' option. my board length is 146.

you can nearly put any length board in the rear seats, just do not forget to cover up the seats !!!!

oh btw, 146 is the max length for the trunk if you fit it in diagonally.

The release handles are in the trunk near the top. Hard to miss.

your car mostly likely didn't come w/ fold-down seats...
i don't have it either... didn't really needed it so far...
if u plan on gettin' PTS, easier installation if u have fold-down seats...

Rear Armrest--More BASS in cabin??

hey guys i was wondering if it is possible to somehow remove the plastic backing that is behind the rear armrest when folded down?, i dont have rear folding seats and i want to somehow create a simple way for my bass to come into the cabin, and this seems like a nice way...i dont have harmon kardon either, so i was wondering if all that junk where the rear sunshade is, is necessary? (foam)/ (speaker panels), which i dont think have speakers in them. lemme know if anyone has any suggestions...

i pulled back the plastic behind the armrest and theres metal behind it but i can feel air coming out when the bass hits...i cant seem to figure out how to take it out tho...i think its screwed in...also the rear cabin where the speakers are or should be...all that foam..how the hell do i get that section open...i was crawled in my trunk for a good 30 mins and couldnt figure it out...so i started cutting sections of the foam out...and i got the driver side section mostly out and i can feel the bass come thru the speaker grill but the other side is still stuffed..

I have foldable rear seats and sub in the trunk. There is not much difference between seats up or down. Sound of any frequency travels better through hard material than air. So, in this case the car body works as conductor. If you need more bass finetune the amp (maybe you will need inverter) or get more powerful setup. My 600 W kicks my a$$ out of the car when I turn it to full power
