Motor trend article M vs AMG...but no C included

I was reading the latest issue of MT and saw that they had an article of M vs AMG... they did comparisons of BMW M's vs MB AMG's but the C32 was included....

Below are the comparo's
M3vs CLK55
M5 vs E55
M Roadster vs SLK32
X5 vs ML55

Bimmer had nothing for the C32...

ex-C32
The S55 was not matched by BMW either. We'll see how the New 7 does in the hands of the auto journalist.

As a BMW owner... I think the S-Class is MUCH nicer than the new 7... I just wish they would loose the ABC and use standard anit-roll bars... much better for sporting driving, and it takes out some of the floatiness in the chassis... but the S is a classy big sedan, the 7 if FUGLY. (God rest the E38... the best driving large sedan in history... i don't think that anyone will ever surpss it.)

personally just on looks itself, i'm not too crazy about the new 7 (and this is an unbiased opinion) most of it works for me except the rear end... it kinda looks like a suitcase if you ask me..or more of an after thought.. either way it kinda doesn't match the car...

I loved the previous 7...specially with the deep dish sport wheels... i was in love when i watched the james bond movie (goldeneye was it??)

The S is pretty sweet as well ..i would take either of those cars any day....

(note to self... keep playing lottery to afford S class or 7 series )

Fuzzo forgot to mention that all the AMG cars lost to all the BMW cars in the comparison.

I REALLY wish Mercedes would offer manual trannies in their AMG variants.

Motor Trend once named the:
- Chevrolet Vega
- Dodge Omni
- Renault Alliance
...their cars of the year.

Do you still trust their opinion?

Hahaha, they also made the Ford Thunderbird their car of the year.

IMO, that is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. hehehe

But I honestly feel that the M3 is better than the CLK, the M5 is better than the E55, and the X5 4.6is is better than the ML55.

I do think the SLK 32 AMG is better than the Z3 M Roadster though.

Just my opinion. =)

I've seen both in person.

The SLK is much nicer looking and has the convertible hard top.

However, both cars look a little dated. I've never been a fan of the Z3 anyway.

I like the NEW MB interior style a lot more than the old style found in most of their current cars.

On another note, I sat in an SL500 and it was spectacular. The dash is leather, and stiched together with the airbag covers etc.

It makes my dad's S500 interior look cheap in comparison.

I like the Z3s in general (duh) BUT that chassis is just WAY overpowered with the S54 engine. BUT... the M coupe, is not at all overpowered....
