W203 c220cdi starts and then switches off
hi guys
My C220cdi starts normal then switches off sometimes (once every 2days) then it has a hard start afterwards. if i do a quick start it then starts normal until the next time it does the start and off thing...i am puzzled by this even my mechanic doesnt have an idea of what is going on. i would appreciate anyone who can help with this...

I would ask your mechanic to check your fuel rail pressure is correct. You may have a blocked fuel filter or a faulty fuel pumps.

Is their any correlation to hot or cold engine? Are your glow plugs in good order?
Also check for exhaust restriction like a blocked Cat. Check inlet restriction ~ air filter.
Do a compression test.
A diesel needs fuel at the right time, Air & compression to run.
