Tranmission mount/flex disc DIY.. Fill in the #'s...
Vibrations while driving, but not in idle or reverse, (goes away when I punch the gas and it switches to next gear [automatic]) so I hypothesize it's the trans mount, possibly flex disc(s).
So I raise car and put 4 jack stands propping her 18-24", put a jack with 10"x10" wood piece to support the trans pan to keep from denting. Fine.
Loosen or remove the brace with which? mm? sockets, then remove/replace trans mount and tighten to torque spec? for each mm? socket?
So, assuming I don't squoosh myself under my car, now I check the flex disc right up against the trans mount. If it's cracked/frayed, make a mark on the drive line so I don't f up the natural alignment leading to more effing vibration, then put car in neutral, spin disc and undo the 6 bolts, pry it out w/ a damn crowbar, replace flex disc and new bolts with loctite (blue shlt) on em, TORQUE SPEC #'s?
Then check other flex disc on front of car for cracks/frayed. Or not, drink beer, try to get friends to get car off of me. Why aren't these in the Wiki?
