M272 Thermostat Bolt

In the process of replacing my thermostat due to P0128 I dropped one of the housing bolts into the engine bay. I spent a few hours trying to find it but it seems it must've fallen into no man's land. I don't mind using anything that would fit but I'd rather use an OEM bolt. I'm not having any luck finding the part, number, or any other details about this particular bolt - any help/suggestions?

You can email that dealership and ask for part# etc.

This is the part # for bolts for thermostat to housing on my '07 C280 4matic (M272 engine).
A 002 990 72 22.

I am pretty sure, that bolt is same for your 06 C280 (M272).

Thanks for the replies guys.

pcy - that was exactly it.

I was able to get the bolt needed and finish up the thermostat job. I feel like I did everything according to procedure but I've run into another issue. After refilling the antifreeze and running the heat on full blast, I'm still not getting any hot air. What did I do wrong and how can I fix this?

My steps were:
1) Fill coolant
2) Let car run with heat on for a few minutes
3) Refilled coolant
4) Squeezed upper radiator hose to burp
5) Run the car, again with heat on full blast

Still no hot air. Am I not giving it enough time to recirculate? It's still pretty cold here in MN. Thanks again.

Did you try to rev the engine several times?
It should start blowing hot air once the temp gauge is even a hair above 40C...

I didn't do any revving. I just let it get to operating temp (~80) both times I let it run. The heat worked great before I changed the thermostat, even with the CEL.

I just did my water pump and thermostat and until I started to rev the engine I had no heat as well even with engine fully heated up.

Do check the level over the next few days as air works out of the system.
