Occasionally, my sunroof will act as though something is stuck in the track and "re-open". When this happens, i clean the tracks with a microfiber and some non-amonia based cleaner (My wife is fond of Method glass cleaner, so that's what i use). I really get in there, and usually come out with quite a bit of grit, dirt and old lubricant. When I'm satisfied that I've cleaned it as best i can, give a light coating of some automotive grease (I use a brand made by Mobil 1 that comes in a long tube and is designed for a caulk gun). Go light on this stuff - i typically put some on the corner of my rag and lightly work it in. You don't want gobs of this stuff in any part of the track, it'll collect dirt can jam your action up. Light coating. Sunroof should work fine with no issues if you do this periodically. Whole process takes me about 20 minutes.
