2007 C230 Sport C & S Question
I have a 2007 C230 Sport and I was wondering if someone could tell me the difference between C & S on the gear shifter. I put it in S and thought it was automatic so I floored it and it felt like it never shifted and a yellow caution light came on for a second so I switched back to C. I was wondering if someone could let me know about this.

Hey Jacob,
You spun your wheels - that's why the yellow triangle came on. The ESP engaged.
In S the car starts in 1st gear and holds gears longer. When you floor it, it will hold the first gear till redline and then shift.
In C it starts from 2nd gear an is generally more benign with the shifts.
Have you read the manual?

So I believe the basic differences in the transmission control are shift points (rpm) and choice of reverse gear. I don't know if it affects throttle control as well.
if you are concerned about recent shifting behavior, have you tried a transmission reset?
