New HID Kit

Can anyone give me some ideas on why my newly installed HID lights are uneven? Here's a picture.

Because you don't have projector headlights, like I've posted 3 times now on your threads.

Wouldn't both headlights be like that if I didn't have projectors?

Like he said it is because you don't have projection headlights. I have the same uneven pattern as your pic with just the standard lens.

If you have projector headlights then something is seriously wrong. First, you wouldn't have needed an HID kit. Second, that looks like HID bulbs inside regular halogen housing. Which projectors do you have?

Should look like this, or something very similar:

Actually, let's do this the more accurate way; which of these looks like the headlights you currently have?(check below)

They're stock. Would I need to buy an entire headlight to get the projector?

Yes.

HID bulbs in halogen housing are actually worse than the stock headlights, both for the driver and oncoming traffic. Because halogen housing is reflecting light, putting in an HID bulb will refract all over the place, blinding oncoming drivers. Blind drivers=crashing into you or someone else. Plus, you won't be able to see as far as the light isn't focused straight ahead.

Projectors take the light from the HID bulb and literally project it forward, In a focused point.

I recommend buying these. A ton of people here, including myself, have these. They're not as good as OEM, but at 25% of the price, I'd say they have 90% the quality as OEM.

It's always a good idea to search around in the future. If you do decide to get the DEPO's, I'd suggest looking at other posts on how to put them in yourself. Installation from a shop can cost an extra $200-$250.

But they're definitely worth it. The stock headlights on these are total crap, haha. I went from having the worst headlights I've ever used to one of the best. Can't imagine where my car would be right now had I not switched. Probably in a junk yard from crashing into a tree.

Yes. I've been debating whether or not to do that myself (my right fog light assembly is completely ruined), but I almost never use my fog lights due to the projectors being good. Those are only like $100. If I was to do that, it would probably only be for aesthetics.

I also "inherited" my '02 C240 from my parents. The only 2 things I really wanted for the car (headlights and window tint) were both Christmas presents. If you're looking to mod the car beyond the headlights, I'd advise doing little by little. If you want something big(ex. rims, new touchscreen radio), save up for a while.
The C240 is a pretty good car. As far as I know, the only real problem is they rust easier than the 2003+ models. Not a problem for me in Houston...
How many miles does yours have?

My car has about 180k haha. Is it normal for the hood of the car to be extremely hot after a couple minute of starting the car?

Whoa that's a lot. Told you they're good, lol.
I'm not sure what's "normal," I actually haven't even checked mine before. But my hood stays hotter much longer than other cars. So I guess that would be a yes.

If those Depo headlights fit your car they should fit mine. They're both C240s that are included in the description.

They will definitely fit your car. They fit any W203 that isn't a coupe, I think. You shouldn't have any problems.

Bi-Xenon is when a car has both HID low beams and HID high beams. The DEPO's are HID low beam and halogen high beam.

edit- the first part is confusing. Bi-Xenon is when one HID bulb is used for both high and low beam. Basically, when you flip the high beams on, the headlights aim higher than normal. The DEPO's are slightly Bi-Xenon. When I flip highbeams on, there is a small, but noticeable change, and the low beams aim higher a bit.
Bi-Xenons are commonly used with newer cars because the headlights are sleeker. Personally I think the low/high setup is better, as when you're flashing someone, you want to make it obvious. Nothing says obvious like a ugly yellow flash of light.

Haha I see. What bulbs would I use as high beam for the new headlight? My halogens I have now appear green due to the ****ty hid in a oem halogen headlight.

If you get the DEPO's, the bulbs will come with them. When I got mine, I got 6000k low beams, but they also had 4300k and 8000k. I think highbeams are H7. But, for future reference, use this. I saw you wanted interior LED's, this will help.

Do you know any good h7 bulbs that'll match the 6000k xenon lights?
