Question 2001 C240 NO HEAT/Overheat Issues HELP!!!

Hey Guys!
Im new here to MB World and from reading all the posts I can see that everyone here is more then helpful to help a fellow MB owner in need.

Like the title says I have a 2001 C240 w/ 170,000 KMS. I recently replaced the waterpump as per a DIY i came across and managed to complete that with no troubles at all.
I ran the car shortly after back home from my shop and noticed everything to be working 100% normally...no overheating lots of heat blowing (-30C the day i did the repair)
I then parked the car for 3 weeks while i went out of town for work. I have now came back to drive it and upon initial start up i got the "check coolant level" message.....i did and refilled the reservoir and went on my way. I looked under the car once i moved it and did not see any signs of leaking antifreeze.
I then took the car out and noticed that once the temp reached the halfway point that i turned on the heater and it was blowing ice cold air. Not only that but the car then proceeded to reach upwards of 100 deg on the dash display.

Quickly turned around and went back home and parked the car. there was no initial sign of leakage of antifreeze so thought i might as well leave it and get a new thermostat. When i came back with the new thermostat i see that there is a bunch of antifreeze all over the garage floor basically right under the reservoir tank.

That all being said I am absolutely confused as to what I am looking at for a problem. I am leaving out of town again for work and want to get this fixed so my GF can drive it instead of my truck while i'm away.

Any thoughts, suggestions knowledge on this kind of problem??

Thanks in advance!

Have you kept the antifreeze content high enough? Is there any chance the coolant was allowed to freeze?

See if the plastic surge tank has cracked & that all hoses & clips/clamps are fine. Check all your waterpump work.

Is there any sign of coolant in the engine oil? Condensation & mayonnaise under the oil cap?

Check to see if your antifreeze has frozen. I'd make the assumption that because your car has been sitting for 3 weeks, the antifreeze could have un-mixed with the water. This is what I'd assume, but I'm no expert.

You might of had a air lock in the system where u had replaced the water pump, re fill system and leave running until really hot and see what happens. Let the system bleed out before going anywhere. Then re-check the next day. A couple of problems them cars have are front cover seals leaking on them, also u may have a head gasket issue and that is why coolant blew out of tank
