Key won't lock the doors reliably
For a few months my car would usually lock the doors but today it only worked once. It doesn't matter how far away I am. I have a tint but it's a couple of years old. My key is at most a couple of years old. It unlocks the doors and trunk fine but it seems to be having a harder and harder time locking the doors.
I was sure there was a thread on this within the last few months and I was also sure that Glyn recommended looking for corrosion on a particular fuse, but I have been able to find it.
Any ideas?

The central locking is electronically controlled. Only fuse 41 for internal switches.
Do you have the problem with both keys? Have you replaced the key battery? Good battery is crucial for remote operation.
Is your radio reception normal ~ especially AM?

Thanks for the quick reply, Glyn!
Ok, I think I've entered the Twilight Zone. The key I've been using is a new style key (with the chrome trim). It is pretty new as I bought it several months after I got my car (used). I found an old key - one of the ones I got with the car. It's an old style key. It seemed to reliably lock and unlock the doors (it worked every time I tried it - about 10 times). The new key was less reliable but started working better. I kept unlocking the doors and then locking them with which ever key worked. After a while, the new chrome key started working very reliably! I don't know what (if anything) changed!
Does that make any sense?

It does not make sense. The battery might be a bit lazy in the new style key & might have been warmer from being in a pocket or whatever when you tried it again.

It didn't make sense to me either!
My new key was in my pocket so it would have been warmer. After I posted my previous post, the locks have worked very well - I'm not sure I can say flawlessly, but virtually every time I used them. It's almost as though something was stuck and once it was jostled free, it started working pretty well.

I am! Though I am a little worried about a possible next time and it happening in a more inhospitable place than my church parking lot or my driveway.
