I have the M271, just bought an Ultra-Gauge and have been watching the engine temp ... usually around 190F +- 10F, but I've seen it go up to 210F after startup.

I was a bit alarmed at first but now that I see it regularly I don't worry.

My thermostat and temp sensor were replaced around 90k by the MB dealership.

From urban driving in my city @ around 70 degrees temp outside, I hit the 90F-95F range on my engine's temp. It is completely normal. You have to remember, the engine generates a lot of heat since it's responsible for pushing a 2-3ton car lol.

Although our thermostats are rated for 87 degrees (I believe), it's completely normal to see the car sit just below 100 degrees in traffic or urban driving conditions. If it goes past 100 degrees, then you probably have a cooling issue. The coolant/water in the cooling system will only start to boil well beyond 115 degrees, but you never want it to even get close to that point.

Plus, you'd get "COOLANT VISIT WORKSHOP!" message on your cluster if your car is running too hot if I'm not mistaken.

Hi! I have C200 Kompressor 2005 and since it has analog meters, I can only share an estimated reading: around 90 degrees celcius which is very normal.
